So let's look at the actual definition of the word compensation: something, typically money, awarded to someone as a recompense for loss, injury, or suffering.
There's no actual compensation in the summoner appreciation event. To receive anything offered during this event has to be earned aside from the BS xp boost that doesn't help players maxed out on summoner level (who are probably the biggest spenders).
Do right by your customers and push out an actual compensation package for the **** service you've provided for the past few months. If not for everyone, at least to the Andoid users who you left in the dark for half a day and essentially disabled from competing in arenas
