Surfer taking damage on hazard shift

Was fighting gorr in aw on node 43 hazard shift (shock incinerate) and was taking damage from the debuffs anyone know why (expert tier war)

Surfer isn’t immune to damage from debuffs, he just reduces their potency by 100%. Assuming your AW opponent isn’t very weird, they’re running the willpower mastery which grants Gorr vicious buffs, which increase the potency of damaging debuffs. That means that Surfer can’t reduce the potency of the debuffs to 0 so they deal damage to him.
