When you're in autofight does your input still do anything?

I feel like it does. But I feel like it puts your inputs in a queue or into consideration, and then decides what to do. Because there are just too many coincidences of me doing a unique combo and it actually working in autofight

I believe the sp button is still on, as I've pressed it a few times and it has been immediately thrown every time. It would be too big a coincidence for the sp button to not be active.
