What happens to Poolshields that expire?

I still have about 300k left and I'm not sure what to do with them

Was it actually said what happens to leftover Poolshields once the event ends?

I would have taken some Primordial Dust, but I've been terribly unlucky in getting the one 6* I even want to ascend aka Ronan

    They'll either be removed from your inventory at some point or last in your inventory indefinitely with no future use.

    They’re converted to gold, 1:1.

    Don’t let that happen. Even spending on the gold and iso bundles will set your account up for a long time.
