Dark Pheonix makes the game unfair

Now we all know this is not the first time Kabam has released the champs which are locked behind the paywall. And generally it's okay, we have the next 7* Eidol as well which a limited playerbase will acquire.

But for some reason Dark Pheonix is a unique case. And I am not talking but not being in the crystal, or we not getting a cosmic as promised. That's another discussion. It's about her being a 5/5 defender. This breaks the game, makes it's unfair for 99% player base.

You can give unique attackers and it's fine, but now we have to face and 5/5 defender which most player base can't get.

We have recently gotten 5/5 defenders like serpent, bullseye, enchantress, but we all had a chance to acquire it. But giving exclusive defenders now. That just makes the game completely unbalanced and is giving an unjust advantage to 1% who will be able to afford it

Are you really going to be competing against the 1% of the player base? Would have been in Celestial if not for Dark Phoenix? Maybe an attack bonus in war?

Tbh she has counters already in game u just gotta make sure u can get rid of the unstoppable mainly when she uses sp1 which thats when atrophy becomes good

I bounce between paying and F2P and i can understand the F2P frustration, but Kabam decisions allow the whales to sponsor everyone else’s play. You have to accept that you have to pay to be at the very top of competitive play, but any F2P player can play Everest content, get to Gladiator’s Circle, enjoy any mode of the game. You just have to give up the FOMO if you don’t have the ability or desire to whale.

Ya so easily save when Kabam just makes sure even after the event is live, let's add more milestones so people can spend even more unit, did you forget what happened in banquet.

What makes you think this is for top 1%, it's for those 1% who can spend.

Yup how many months did it take for serpent, even the top 1% were complaining, were they not. Now exclusive defenders that we now have to face in bg and alliance war, yeah sure great. Should be praising Kabam for this masterstroke.

Atrophy still counters her second life

Plus her nova flames go down by 13% if u hit her meaning just use shathra and win

Until we got shathra then people got better but ive never had a problem with serpents enchantress as a defender since only played war but now dont but sym and shathra just destroyed serpent that even dark phoenix isnt gonna be an issue as she has counters as soon as she arrives

What you always forget is 5/5 defenders make life harder even if you figure out there kit cause of the nodes they are placed on, be it the battleground meta or AW. Even counters don't work.

In bgs u can easily ban and wars u can be normal and actually look at map to know what to bring to counter if u dont plan then thats ur issue not anyone elses

Sure and this will really set a precedence for the future. I am sure, Kabam wanting more casual players will live to face these 5/5 defenders. Who knows we might get 100k more players just for these challenge on top of the AI issues.

How so ? Battleground wise you can ban her . War wise at most she would make sure you suffer 3 deaths before people figure out how to counter her which annoying yes but hardly game breaking . I am all about reminding people that Kabam is at the end of the day a greedy corporation and not your friend but I honestly don’t see the big deal here.

Isn’t Dark Phoenix’s regen on her Immortality tied to the energy damage she’s dealing? If you’re taking energy damage from her the healing doesn’t matter, you’re already losing.

As someone who only moderately spends (the $5/mo units and the sigil every month and a half), I can confidently say that your take here is wrong. I won't even spend all my units and get her, and if you were to just take the whole of everyone who spends anything I'm probably in the bottom 1% of that.
Were you not around for Weapon X? Or are you still not around for him?
A couple things to keep in mind. First, like you said this isn't the first time they've done it, and they've put some pretty gnarly defenders behind a paywall is Weapon X and JJ (yes, I know JJ is not that hard, but she can be), both of whom get harder with nodes just like any other defender (which you also said). So let's stop narrowing it down to a now issue like it wasn't a thing before.
Second, Kabam's number rating system means absolutely nothing. You know how many noodles they put at 4/5 attack? A lot more than there should be. So they may label her a 5/5 defender, but she might not be that bad, or could even be a big nothing on defense. As has already been said, they're launching her with a bunch of counters already existing. The other defenders you've mentioned have needed to have champs made specifically with them in mind. That doesn't seem to be the case with Dark Phoenix, so we can be fairly optimistic that she won't be that broken as a defender.

A unit based event is a FTP friendly event. If you didn't put the time into farming and saving units, then yeah, you've gotta spend. But anyone can get her for free.
