You can give unique attackers and it's fine, but now we have to face and 5/5 defender which most player base can't get.

I won't even spend all my units and get her, and if you were to just take the whole of everyone who spends anything I'm probably in the bottom 1% of that. Were you not around for Weapon X? So let's stop narrowing it down to a now issue like it wasn't a thing before. Second, Kabam's number rating system means absolutely nothing. You know how many noodles they put at 4/5 attack? A lot more than there should be. So they may label her a 5/5 defender, but she might not be that bad, or could even be a big nothing on defense. As has already been said, they're launching her with a bunch of counters already existing. The other defenders you've mentioned have needed to have champs made specifically with them in mind. That doesn't seem to be the case with Dark Phoenix, so we can be fairly optimistic that she won't be that broken as a defender.
A unit based event is a FTP friendly event. If you didn't put the time into farming and saving units, then yeah, you've gotta spend. But anyone can get her for free.

Also so true just have to wait and see when dark phoenix arrives she could be easy to take down but just annoying to play as she be say like a stall champ
First I see posts that only the top 1% spenders will get her and now I see post that everyone should be able to get her since she's a 5/5 defender. Technically everyone thats paragon can get her not just spenders which is great for those people that do save units

Most players have some form of full time commitment. The real difference is your choice to grind or not.
Units are very easy to obtain, but you need to put some effort in.
Don’t have time? Spend money. Don’t have money? Spend time. Don’t want to spend either - the beauty of choice.
What you always forget is 5/5 defenders make life harder even if you figure out there kit cause of the nodes they are placed on, be it the battleground meta or AW. Even counters don't work.
Unless they make a bg node that prevents buff duration being reduced I don't see how she would be made that much harder. Also if they do just like, ban her
