Thoughts On Cyclops?

He seems like JUST another damage dealer. His true focus is nice but that's all he has and its not even great because once you lose it, you have to disrupt your entire loop by throwing a special to get it back and in fights where you really need the utility, that can be very troublesome.
The true focus is surprisingly quite easy to lose, if the AI isn't co-operating with your special baiting or you're trying to play around a certain node such as root, unstoppable, unblockable, encroaching stun, reflect or any long defensive mechanic etc it can definitely fall off.
Secondly, he needs sig 200 to be a decent option against the matchups he should be taking, keyword DECENT. A sig 200 cyclops will just be a little better than your regular non reflect counters in the mutant class. He'd be a little better than xpool, dani, bishop, sunspot etc. Those characters do not have reflect counters in their kit, they just happen to be mutant. Cyclops will only be a tad better AND HE'D NEED SIG 200 to be okayish against the reflecters and even at that, he's losing 10+% of his health.
He isn't exactly a 1st, 2nd or 3rd option against his target matchups.
I get what his dev was trying to do with the adrenaline mechanic as they were trying to actually make it useful, it is just flawed because adrenaline needs specials to be thrown in order to regen all the chip damage quickly and his rotation doesn't incorporate that.
His rotation doesn't exactly seem like the smoothest or the fastest as for example; a battlegrounds matchup where time is essential, you cannot bank on NUKING the opponent because his rotation has to be thrown when the opp has no specials ready because you need 3 bars ready and to wait for them to dash into you.
You see why this isn't ideal because champs like onslaught, Enchantress and photon (or any ranged defender) will pop that special from across the other side of the screen. His rotation isn't the kind where you can throw it when the opp is at 3 bars because you know it will kill like your other nukes, he is dependant on the opponent having no special ready.
Also, for champs like korg or defenders in general where you have a brief room to perform your rotation, he will struggle, I've already seen this with korg, he requires multiple special attacks, if you do not time korgs Rock stacks, you will end up running into it again because he throws multiple special attacks so he either has to wait for it to come back and break it before throwing specials, or risk running into it while throwing specials, this makes him less ideal than the other mutants who just take down the rock stacks and one shot.
Basically, he's in the same case as xpool the difference is, xpool came at a time where he was actually needed. Xpool wasn't handling the reflecters however, he was dealing damage (with a wayy better and faster rotation than cyclops). There weren't alot of meta relevant nukes at the time xpool came out, the only one was dazzler and she wasn't officially released so there was a huge reason to rank up xpool then and after him, every mutant since then has been able to nuke at least to some extent so damage is no longer what we lack.
Overall he seems very competent and worthy of rank up resources as his fans are gonna be overjoyed because he actually is very good.
I'll be getting the pass (i was always going to) because of the units and rewards however, i don't really need him and don't think I'll be investing in him as I already have alot of damage dealers on my roster.

I think he'll do real well in most content.
He just goes pew pew and knocks things out. Super fun. I could see using him for crucible/valiant EQ type quests, story content, and potential EoP type things if they continue in the future. I’m just happy there’s a *good* Cyclops that is fun to play.
That might not be your cup of tea, and you might just prefer a champion that doesn't have to "budget" their damage in a fight based on persistent charges.
That sp3 rotation damage is kinda mental and with power back boosts he just becomes even crazier nuking Epoch health pools in one rotation.
I feel giving him 20% prowess was a bit too much should've been 10% that way his damage goes up to 1000% instead of 2000%. And he would actually feel like a 4.5 attacker.
I would've preferred if they put some of the budget that went to his damage into his sig ability instead.
Ohh well, the developer probably has a reason why his damage is that high.
Blud really said everything but nothing.
