Was The HOF event handled poorly?

This event feels so weird aspeacilly after getting the Spring Cleaning which was amazing giving the f2p crowd an amazing choice between a whole rooster of diferent and exclusive 7* and p2p a big choice of crystals and both rank ups, everyone is happy but for Heart of Fire... it's a whole diferent story.
I spent somewhere around 12500 units and maxed out the free cavalier crystlas track and enough valiant crystals to get me to 185 with the free ones so my luck was,
1st - I-Bomb from the first premium track 7* HoF crystal sandwiched between 2 Fant-Mans, was pretty salty tbh but whatever,
2nd - Tigra as a lucky pull from the valiant crystals themselves and
3rd- Finally a Fant-man from the free-ishly 7* Hof crystal from the 6 star Dark Phoenix Track.
So for 12500 units I got a subpar science champ, a pretty cool neautralize mystic (I don''t have the 6* maxed so she is good pull in my books and a a fantastic pull of a Fant-man (even unwakened I still love him) and a 6* Dark Phoenix (Don't care for the 7* cuz she is a trophy champ and nowhere worth the 36000+ uinits.)
This leaves me with around 25500 now which is a good base for July 4th and I don't care for Nick Fury (imo he was kinda overated and don't feel a need to spend crazy for him) and Apoc is too outdated for me, but as someone who got very lucky with the RNG I can see how so many people can get annoyed that they didn't get who they wanted or worse yet, get a double of the one they didn't want (Most of us agree it's either Ibomb or Apoc).
This event was for me a 5,5/10 taking RNG into consideration. Even with a crystal consisting only out of 5 champs things can go wrong and I feel like Kabam should have learned from Omega Days and put 2 selectors, one at 200 points and remove a 7* HoF crystal and one at 400 points so people can atleast have a choice since it's way better to have the one you want instead of 4/5 you don't care about, but my question to you is...

And it’s a business. They’re just finding new ways to milk us. Have an event where people buy/get a bunch of units, then have another event soon after to get people to spend those units (or more money)
