Unit Grind For J4

Mostly for myself and the couple of people who might find it interesting, I'm going to try to document my unit grind for the July 4th sale.
I spent all but 105 of my units for HOF, and want to see how much I can replenish through normal play before the next sale.
I do have the Sigil but otherwise this will just be regular grind (arenas, DSE, autofighting EQs, & any other content that has units, maybe some Act 6 exploration).
Also a full-time job and young kids.
So this is the starting point:

My goal is the 36K needed to max everything out at J4; impossible, but curious to see how close I can come.

You have May and June, 2 months which means in theory you will reach at most 50% of your stated goal of 36k units
500k battlechips yields about 1k units excluding arena milestones
Yeah, that's not even on the table for me. I've never even completed all the milestones in the 4* one.
I'm not saying it's wholly impossible but it's going to be difficult and unsustainable for extended period of time, you could exceed 9k units per month with really hardcore arena grinding
My view on grinding arena is that even at 12k units per month, 12k units is like rounded up 400usd
Some ppl earn more money from the same amount of time and buying units seems more efficient than grinding arenas
I think they reset monthly
If you can get 2 of the BG objectives you can get them and still have some radiance leftover
For around the same radiance, I can get 750 units, or 3 T4As.
Oh wait… I meant 3 units, not 30
Gotta love to see the R4 DP, but honestly I enjoy this.
For example, I'd never tried Serpent vs. Onslaught before, and it turns out, Serpent isn't a terrible counter....
Up to 1356 units.
As for whether or not its worth getting over saving up for a t7b , that im not sure
Heres my post from
January, I been averaging this much every month.

After I drained my units and got dark
Pheonix im at
118,895 units
Before I whaled + the deals in the web store I was around 133k.
Anyways goodluck in your grind
It is a little dated now because it doesn't have things like the Radiance store or Valiant EQ, but I compiled a list of where all the units are normally in the game (outside of special events or things that did not have predictable quantities like double track events and stuff like that) here:
https://forums.playcontestofchampions.com/en/discussion/385738/how-to-get-units-in-mcoc-in-2025-its-like-2024-but-with-fewer-typos
In a year you could get 70760 units per year from EQ, arena milestones and the DSE, which averages about 5900 units per month. With Val EQ we're at about 6050 units per month.
The biggest source of units past that point would come from arena crystals. In theory a maniac player could earn a ton more units from those, but what is actually sustainable is subjective. I can say in my heavy grinding days I could earn more than twenty million BC in a year. My highest was about 22 million. The average units from arena crystals for that many BC would be about 41250 units, or about 3478 per month. That would get me to just shy of 9500 units per month in theory. This is a number I know I can sustainably reach, but in general I do not.
I was not grinding 24 hours a day or anything: I was grinding a ton, but I was certainly not anywhere near what the heaviest grinders were putting out. My guess is someone who wanted to spend the bulk of their free time grinding and were putting in like eight hours a day on average could conceivably tack on at least 2k units per month through arena crystals, which would get them to about 11500 units per month. This is an enormous time commitment, but there are people who put that much time into their hobbies, gaming or otherwise. This is a level of effort featured grinders used to put in back in the day. I think I would lose feeling in my fingers after six months of this level of sustained effort.
If you assume someone sleeps eight hours a day and works eight hours a day five days a week and otherwise has nothing else to do but grind, eat, and take occasional bathroom breaks, the theoretical F2P limit is probably around 15000 units per month total from all sources. This is a person who lives a normal life schedule except for the fact that all their free time would be going to MCOC and nothing else, and has a large enough roster, and titanium fingertips. This is not a limit I have any intention of ever testing practically.
