About her being ‘well written’ though…. she isn’t well written. How does Yelena go from finding out that Hawkeye isn’t the one who killed her Sister Natasha, which means that Valentina Allegra De Fontaine lied to her about who killed her sister… then in her next appearance in Thunderbolts, she is working for the woman that lied to her without any mention, reference or interaction covering the fact that she lied… which would absolutely cause tension between them to say the least. Yelena also didn’t react to the death of Female Taskmaster at all, even though Yelena and Taskmaster had the same horrible childhood. Yelena would relate with Female Taskmaster because they both went though so much torture. Yelena would hate to see Female Taskmaster go out like that, right in front of her. Her sister Natasha literally saved Female Taskmaster because she had so much guilt for what she did to her, and Natasha wanted the best for her. But in Thunderbolts, Yelena has no care or reaction to the fact that she just saw Female Taskmaster get shot in the dome right in front of here….

Calling Yelena ‘well written’ is laughable. She may be written better than most of the characters in the current MCU…. but is that really saying much? Nah.

Is this you? This is you right? I can't tell if you wrote this or someone else.......but anyway, whoever said this said "bland everything", not looking, everything. But I can see how one can get confused with "looking" and "everything". They're spelled nearly identical and sound exactly the same.

Yelena in the movies and Hawkeye series isn't advanced in her story arc and the Yelena they modeled the MCOC version of. The MCOC version, is the comics version that has a ton of character development to go with that character model. Much like how Iron Man in the movies advances his suits along with more movies. She's had 3 appearances now. She's just beginning to get her backing with Valentina. But to say she's bland is just plain wrong. The character is played very well by Florence and she does an amazing job with connecting with all these characters she comes across. I'm sorry you need someone to have fancy weapons and things in movies to think they're great but it's not what makes a character good in movies.

I am also not sure what ideas you had about powers anyway? She's a Black Widow, they are not superhuman and have no real powers outside of being highly skilled combatants.

It was about her outfit design and how boring of a character she is to be added to MCOC. Just a B-Tech Black Widow. I said her design and abilities are bland ffs 🤣 not that her character is ‘bland’. There are issues with her absolutely, but MCU Yelena being added to MCOC is 100% bland on paper. A discount black widow with a trash suit/outfit and no interesting or unique ways of doing combat. I think it’s a fair argument to say Yelena’s overall story (and the setup for Thunderbolts in general) is kind of choppy. But the writing for the individual characters — their relationships, motivations, emotions, etc — was very good, I thought.

The whole “how did we get here exactly?” problem is a problem of structure within the MCU. Getting to the starting line of Thunderbolts involved the Hawkeye show, F+WS, BW movie, and a bunch of stuff Marvel probably wishes they never did. But the characters specifically, I really liked them. (Maybe not Val, she just seems like warmed over Veep with some villainy sprinkled on top.)

First off, anyone that actually uses emoji as much as you have clearly indicates YOUR age as well as intellect level. And Secondly, since you wanna base your argument off her "boring abilities", what's your excuse your Misty knight being in game? Or Shang- chi? Or karnak? All they know is martial arts or guns right? Must be very boring for you. But I've got a little hint, every character in marvels backlog of characters, is someone's favorite. Just cause YOU don't think like them or think they are boring or won't translate to the game is just ignorant and arrogant. But then again, considering all your other posts you ever make, I expect nothing less.

@Herbal_Taxman Yeah, Thunderbolts definitely made each character more likeable and more of… a character. Like always though, when they do this, it creates more and more inconsistencies. They changed the already established personalities of some of the main cast to make this movie how they did. Ghost & Walker specifically. Ghost went from character that would hardly speak and is very reserved and focused on her task / mission only… to a character that would crack jokes, speak too much and ramble at points. Walker went from a competent, logical character that most of the surrounding characters disrespect and dunk on for being logical 💀 to the slow minded clown of the Thunderbolts (after Red Guardian) that everyone disrespects and dunks on 🤣 I like the Thunderbolts movie but they just straight up change characters and their situations without an ounce of setup.
Like you mentioned, the ‘how did we get here’ issue that has plagued the MCU since the end of Phase 3 is still going on. There’s been close to ZERO setup for anything that has happen in these recent movies and future movies. Things just happen. I’m just glad that the characters and the story were actually taken seriously for once in a current MCU project. Despite all of the Thunderbolts flaws… I really enjoyed the movie and their efforts to finally make characters and the story interesting after years of slop.
