Proposal for an Official Resource Site for Marvel Contest of Champions

I wanted to take a moment to discuss a topic that’s been on my mind regarding “Marvel Contest of Champions.” With the game being a staple in mobile gaming for over a decade, it’s surprising that we don’t have an official resource site like auntm.ai or khonshu-ankh

The creators of those sites provided invaluable resources to our community, offering features like mastery trees, prestige calculations, and detailed information about nodes and abilities. However, it’s unfortunate that one has shut down due to server costs and the other has not been updated in nearly a year and we do not known if the creator is even ok.

This leaves many of us without a reliable source of information, and it begs the question: why hasn’t Kabam created an official site that we can use as a community resource or even bought out one of the previous sites or even hired them to maintain the site?

Here are a few reasons why I believe an official resource site would greatly benefit both the players and the developers:

1. Community Demand: The popularity of the previous community-driven sites shows that there is a strong need for easy access to comprehensive game information. An official resource would cater directly to this demand.

2. Centralized Information: With an official site, all game-related information could be accurately maintained in one location, reducing confusion and ensuring players have the best possible resources at their fingertips.

3. Support and Reliability: Official websites provide guaranteed reliability. Unlike third-party platforms that may face issues like server downtime or lack of updates, an official resource would always be accessible and current.

4. Engagement and Connection: Creating an official site would enhance engagement between Kabam and the community, fostering a better connection and a more enriched player experience.

5. Enhancing Gameplay: Access to detailed information about mastery trees, abilities, and synergies would empower us to make informed decisions about our champions and strategies, leading to a more enjoyable gameplay experience

6. Legacy of the Game: An official resource site would demonstrate Kabam’s commitment to the game and its community, ensuring that the legacy and vibrancy of “Marvel Contest of Champions” continue for many more years.

I believe that an official resource site would be an incredible asset for the community and for the future of the game. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this.

This would be really nice. I’d love to be able to do a search for all champs that can block unblockable specials, anti evade, slow, etc. As goated as Aunt Mai is…it’s a bit difficult to use and I don’t think has been updated in a while.

To add to this idea, I know clash Royale and clash of clans uses a site that you can create an account by using your in-game name, and it will input your base/card roster for you. It would really make planning for future Everest content a whole lot easier. There could even be planners within the site. And you could filter through not only your champs that fit the bill but the best champs to take on content. So persay, I wanted the best photon counter, it would prob be crossbones, but persay I don’t have crossbones, but I do have black cat, I could figure that out

They already have the official site. They can just add an advanced tab to Champion profiles collecting all the information that was in Auntmai and Khonshu's Ankh

If someone starts a site, we need it to have a sorting function for buffs and debuffs too! not only just for immunities!

this would be aMAzing. Kabam’s update of the Champ Spotlights was a big step forward, but them adding functionality akin to Konshu or the departed mr Slug’s Auntm.ai would go a long way. their years of dev, the complexity that the game has reached, it would make engagement easier as everyone (especially those who’ve never hit the forum) has access to info to fully utilize their toys (and to want more, let’s be honest).

And multiple filters at a time. Like if you wanted a champ who doesn’t get buffs and is immune to poison. Like and/or filters

They could hire the AuntM.ai guy (I don't remember his name) and backup his site, making it an official MCOC tool. I m pretty sure they have the money for one more salary for someone that does a great job and he s loved by the community, which he helped for years.

Probably find they want people on the game and not the website. Unless it’s monetised. I agree it would be incredible and we all use the 3rd party sites. But I’m looking at the deeper reasons and it’s alllllllllllways to do with money

While the poster here went into rather extensive detail outlining their proposal, and it sounds like good news may be coming our way about something (no, I don't have any more insight into that than anyone else up here, so just what Pinwheel said above).

It has been something brought up rather frequently over the years.
And especially many times much more recently this past week or so, as well as the past maybe year because of the other main site not having time to update it.

I imagine Kabam must have already had something in the works prior to this (or at least discussion) if they were able to drop a hint here. But maybe they can gleam some other suggestions from OP's details at top here.

Just want my synergies all in one place. That and easy to navigate prestige list were the 2 biggest things I liked about those sites. Everything else was a bonus

It would be super cool to see AI integration into “The Academy” so that we could ask it for rank up advice, waiting to rank up based on awakened ability, ask for advice planning content moving forward, etc. Feel like it would be beneficial to new players as well

Knowing AI and what it takes to create one that would do something like that, you would be better off asking global chat for advice since the AI would need a lot of data to make "informed" choices, and if you want it to be relevant, you will need to filter out a lot of troll suggestions from the data or create that data. Both of which would be very intensive in both time and money and in the end the suggestions still probably wouldn't be great.

I think my last team was planning to use a PDF file search and just print the relevant section as an assistant 'reply'

I always struggle to remember like which champs have heal block or whatever in order to create a proper team for some nodes or quests. I watch mcocnoob/encyclopedia/chew to see what they suggest, usually a couple of champs (which I either don't have or not rank up properly) and continue with something like ""or whatever champ hits through evades / is poison immune / does armor breaks ecc""
