7* Cyclops, is he among the top 5 mutant now?

Regardless of the Prof synergy, apart from that, am seeing insane damage from specials and just pure damage character, where does he rank now. I mean just seeing yellow numbers so satisfying.

No defensive value, Tight rotation, lack of utility outside true focus/prowess and intercept reliant.

Lets give him some time before deciding. I'm never gonna trust youtubers after how they hyped characters like spiral and gentle.

It will be hard to unseat the likes of Sinister, Onslaught, Domino, Bishop, Dust, etc. at the top.

DPX, Storm and Dazzler all have a claim somewhere there too. No doubt he’s a fantastic nuke, but we will have to see how he stacks up after he’s been in game a bit.

They need to buff that adrenaline mechanic and make it so it never decays that's all he needs in my opinion. It's supposed to counter thorns but because it decays slowly you still end up losing 20% health to defenders like Attuma, just because it stores 90% of the damage doesn't mean you will recover 90% of that damage.

He's has barely any utility, no defensive value, and when compared to the r3 he does WS in about the same time because of the ramp

And I think his sig ability is stupid. You absorb Thorns as adrenaline right? So you hit the opponent to gain that health back right? Wrong, because if you're fighting Korg or Attuma you'll just end up taking more thorns and you won't be able to reliably heal.

Now do I regret ranking him? No, he's fun and Scott is my favorite X-Man. Is he a top 5 mutant? No, Onslaught, Sinister, Dazzler Domino, and Bishop are all better than him.

I will say this: That kit handles two annoying kits in BGs that I didn’t always have an answer for, depending on the meta. Plus it’s absolutely a hard counter to Bullseye, full stop. You can’t use it everywhere, and it’s not the fastest. But sometimes, you just need to be able to get the other guy down and see what the final score is, and it does give me a good option that I did need

Gentle seems good though. I’ve seen people use him on defense and he’s annoying to fight and he nukes on attack

People are definitely sleeping on him, Spiral isn’t bad either so I don’t really understand the point here. She’s good enough at what she does

r3 Gentle here, definitely agree people are sleeping on him because of the built in recoils but he pretty much kills anything in BGs after sp2 for that to even matter. I did a r4 Prowler yesterday with him cause I had no other options and he only had 8% health left after one rotation. I don't know that many 7* that can punch a whole rank above like that with class disadvantage and almost kill with just sp1 sp2. Also to add to all this, he's the most braindead Bullseye counter in the entire game and imo the best.

I like spiral. Quite useful in war. And gentle is great against Bullseye as well. But They were overhyped on release, especially spiral. That's the point. We shouldn't trust youtubers blindly.

I seriously don’t understand the Gentle slander whatsoever. He’s a nuke, I fought him in BG without an unstoppable counter and he took forever to take down because of his crit res and the combo ability. I saw people saying he’s a horrible pull and stuff but he seems awesome. Like you said, one of the best bullseye counters and just general nukes. Super impressive prowler fight too and he can turn off the recoil so there isn’t even an issue there

Seems like more of Nova situation to me where people don’t realize how crazy the champ is, I always trust Trappy though and he helped me realize how many champs are great. People were still slandering Nova and saying other comics are way better for BG when my r5A was cooking bullseyes and photons in under 50 seconds

Yeah he finishes every single fight in about 45 secs, I think most of the slander comes from people who don't have him cause I was apart of that group too lol then my Titan luck decided to give me four Gentles in a row so I decided to try him and I was very surprised. He's currently sig 65 and I'm definitely going to commit to that sig 200, I was so impressed with the r4 Prowler fight and that sp2 would've killed but my first hit I wasn't unstoppable that 8% left would've vanished if I was. As for Bullseye definitely the best imo, he can't evade you he can't crit you he can't bleed you, shut down completely. As for defense I think he's being slept on really hard as well, if he throws sp2 he becomes an absolute tank, and the unstoppable every 15 hits already slows you down quite a bit.

Definitely like the Nova situation been trying to awaken mine for a while now. Always trust Trappy when it comes to BGs I always found his videos the most accurate and useful for some reason.

Yeah I fought a r4 on defense in GC a week ago and he was so annoying lol, thought it was gonna be a breeze to kill him but he was tanking everything

I’ve been trying to get my hands on Nova for so long, if I did I’d actually pop the generic gem from epoch into him. He’s one of my favorites to use, still waiting on him and White Tiger and I’ll be happy

@ItsClobberinTime I’ve been playing with my Gentle a bit and am more positive than I think most are. How critical is it for him to be awakened to be effective in BGs do you think?

Mine has won me so many matches in this GC meta, that physical resistance passive he gains after sp2 turns him into uru form Abs Man for 30 secs so you're kinda cooked if you don't have energy damage, and the unstoppable is a harder time stall than people realize, especially cause you have to time it right with your specials otherwise he'll punish and you lose a ton of health if he had that reverb active.

I've pulled him once but still haven't been able to pull him again I'd get him to sig 80 so fast and then r3.

If you're punching a rank above you definitely want at least sig 90-100 just to be safe, more often than not sp2 will kill even if he's punching a full rank above but if for whatever reason it doesn't then at sig 90-100 you're only losing 4%-5% health which is not a big deal at all in BGs.
For same rank fights doesn't need it at all, just throw the crit stat on him and 9 times out of 10 he'll kill with one sp2, that's been my experience so far at least the crits are very consistent for a mutant champ as long as you remember to throw specials while unstoppable.

how good is Bishop, I have him from epoch mutant and am saving my 1-2 for cyclops or onslaught, should I go for it even though I have r3 sinister and r2 dazzler

He isn’t top of the top since he isn’t a duel threat, but I’d put him around Dazzler. They are both super fun and can nuke matches. I brought him into Necro for synergies for the mutant challenge today and I used him on hit monkey at r2. He was able to take off 60% of the health and I would have been able to do more if I didn’t decide to get hit by 2 special twos. Saved me a revive and took off a lot more than I expected

Onslaught over Bishop is the call. But Bishop is a nuke and a solid dual threat in a lot of metas. His ability to retain his power bar from fight to fight is also great questing.

Agree with this, but the only thing that's like annoying on attack for Gentle, is that even at 13 Daunted, he doesn't crit often, which ends up with the SP2. not KOing the opponent.

As for the question, he could reach Top 10 mutants for sure, his damage is amazing, but I don't think he's top 5 because other mutants have more utility, like Mr Sinister and Dazzler or are better defenders

That's a myth, anyone who says that either doesn't know how to use Gentle or doesn't have him, when you throw sp2 he gains 4.5k crit rating. If you're running crit stat focus like you should be you're almost always going to get at least three crits.

I agree Gentle is slept on but if you do the light ender to avoid recoil it lowers the damage by a lot. It may be worth it to just take the 5% loss like Clobberin said

Yeah lmao it's so obvious that they haven't played him too because how can you say he rarely crits when his sp2 has more crit rating than Red Guardian with two debuffs on a defender which makes him a crit machine pretty much.

Exactly. I pulled Gentle early and he takes a little getting used to but people acting like he's not an incredibly solid champ just haven't played him enough. Personally i think the hardest thing about him is trying to line the unstoppable with his specials but even then it just takes a bit of practice to do and if you can't get it then you can use the 4th light to avoid the big damage back. Other than that he's a great 2 way champ

I'd say top 5 mutants with bias is kitty I know shes a 6 star but still onslaught sinister dazzler and cyclops and honorable mention to domino but she is rng reliant
