Anyone use their new 7* NF in BGs yet? How is he doing?

Hello all -

I’m likely going to make a run for the selector to get NF as he is one of my favorites. I have a skill AG for him so he will definitely be awakened (using the AG from the event for FAM). I’m trying to decide whether to be one and done with Nick or to invest sigs in him to make him more of a stall. I’m currently leaning towards making my FANTMAN an R4 with ~20 sig and putting most of the rest of the sigs into either Fury or DPhoenix.

That said, most folks know how to fight Nick now so I’m not sure even at R3 and ~160 sig he will be that great a defender.

I know its early, but anyone got any direct experience yet?

    used him as an attacker. finishes fights very quickly, but the health loss is felt hard. maybe at higher sigs, it'd be better, but for a sig 56 nick, i wud not reccomend him as an attacker. in defence? he's lackluster, cus ppl know how to handle him now. In a decent meta, he cud be good. and he obv stalls fights well, with the second life.

    Mine's been permabanned cause I took him to r4 so I don't actually know but I think he will definitely re-surge as long as you know which mutant attackers to ban (mainly DPX and Dani Moonstar)

    He never gets banned, nearly always gets killed but he’s such a good staller.

    I live in Uru because I simply can’t improve in BG’s. And I am for whatever reason really struggling with this meta. Anyway, he is either banned or does what he is supposed to do on Defense (when he actually shows up to draft)

    He's a stall defender in this meta, he works depends on the drafts, better if you have 2nd pick

    Fury isn't a good defender because he can't be killed. He's a good defender because he's a big time stall. He's always gonna be viable for that reason.

    In the current meta, power gain works against Nick as he reach special 2 easily and it's easy to dodge special 2

    Without max sig, the second life is gone very quickly

    With max sig, he can stall a few more seconds but that's it

    Many players know how to fight nick by now

    I’d only use his first life for attack, like at the end of a match if you do take damage you can regen it using the lmd

    My R4 sig 200 has put in a ton of work already. He has like a 90% win rate with a lot of those matches surviving and KOing the attacker. He’s definitely a top defender.

    I think that generally the answer to this question is going to heavily be influenced by the level of BG play. Personally I don't really have the energy to push past uru, and my NF does pretty dang well. At the lower levels you don't really need perfect matchups and counters, you just have to hope you play better than your opponent.

    What I'm trying to say is that NF is incredibly relevant until you get up into the really high ranks where the meta is ultra important. When you're in the lower ranks Nick stalls perfectly and honestly still catches people off guard. Most people make a lot of mistakes in the lower ranks and Nick can force a mistake pretty easily.
