So why do we have to fight Dark Phoenix..?

Respectfully leaving some feedback here - I was under the impression that the acquisition of Phoenix would be similar to Sinister, CMM, etc, in that we'd collect the relevant currency through various means and simply claim Phoenix today, I'm not sure why the fight is necessary?

We've already jumped through multiple hoops and game modes and challenges to get the tokens (honestly, the only time I ever bother with incursions) and this last fight is something I really can't be bothered doing. It's very likely going to be yet another sink of potions and time for a lot of people and personally, I just find it really annoying.

I'm not sure if Kabam had explicitly told us about this but even if they had, I'm not sure I'd be happy about it then either.

I've cleared the fight and got Phoenix but it wasn't on my first attempt and not that straight forward of a fight really.

It's opened my eyes up a bit more to her kit, and people can disagree, I just think we'd done enough without a fight that some people are going to have to get a YouTube tutorial for.

just another complain, but not so much hate goes towards it as we did not grind as much for Phoenix than the other chase champs, but I feel like a 1-2 gem would have been cool to see as the other got one for their saga as well

Point being that there's a world, like every other recent currency champion, where we'd have got the champion and neither the fight or negative opinions were necessary.

Me personally, I really can't be arsed, I'll do it cos I kinda have to but it's unnecessary.
It makes sense since both phoenixes were released at the same time and are related but doing the chase just for us to NOT EVEN GET GEMS, SIG STONES AND other mats like we did during previous sagas (which we didn't have to fight an Epoch style defender) and now also having to watch a whole video is just so jarring.

Keep in mind, there have been no mention of genesis/coda saga materials.

I don't think the fight is enough to warrant a rank up, but I think @NONYABIZZ got it right, maybe a few sig stones to make it feel like there was some point to the fight, rather than just another obstacle to gain a champion I felt like I'd already earned.

lol Just a heads up I've already completed it, but it's not just about reading the nodes, but it's how the mechanics of the game plays, especially not knowing to try and not have her throw Sp1's, also the Nova damage and not having a decent enough champ to take on the fight, there's a lot of factors in this.

Easy solo with count nef or abs or spiral ect, she’s not the best champ in the game either just a fun unique buff, quit playing dawg

No no, I'd cut the grass, watered the plants, gone through some real effort to think I was going to have a smile on my face when I stepped out of the door that morning - that's how it's been every other time I'd gone through the same effort - but when I did there was something annoying and unnecessary in my way.

- The gardening is the content we've done for dark plumes
- The door is the MCOC app
- The dog poop/annoying and unnecessary thing is the Dark Phoenix fight

sinister got a rank up gem CMM got one too, and we had a buffer of 29 banquet tickets for him, but here, if we miss GC, we are cooked via ftp.

People complain about a lot of things. There's a world where none of those complaints exist, because none of the things they complain about exist. That doesn't mean its a better world.

It is funny how people complain about something being different than what came before when they don't like it, but when how easy it is to complain about how lazy the developers are when they don't change things we're bored with. The world where the devs are the kind of people who would not change how such champs were acquired is a world where the devs would never bother adding such methods in the first place. Because none of this are necessary. You can get all your champs from PHCs and basic crystals. These acquisition paths, where players actually have full control over acquiring a specific champion. They aren't necessary.

real life issues have no relevance with the game, whatever you mentioned makes no sense because all that takes extra effort and time which could've been avoided or should not have happened (i.e. the dog pooping in the garden).

This is a mobile game and we all play it with the purpose of fighting new champions in various gamemodes like bgs, war and all sorts of quests to acquire and rank our champions. The side quest was just another piece of content kabam gave us to clear so we could acquire and rank-up another new(ly buffed) champion and thats what the game is about. Its just one fight and its not that long or hard anyways.

Where that is quite profound in of itself, the world I'm describing is one Kabam had set a precedent for with previous champs. I am aware (now) they told us about the final quest for Phoenix but it still doesn't mean I think that part is a good idea.

Fully on board with the fact it's good that we can achieve these champs at all, but personally it's felt like a slog to get here and still have further to go.

These are things players do anyways. But I guess considering that you're complaining about the fight, I'm assuming that these aren't things you generally do but had to go out of your way to do them?
