idiotic questions for unplugging kabam account

CoolscmonCoolscmon Member Posts: 23
I started playing this game 2016 with a break of 2-3 years and i dont know my credentials for my kabam account anymore. And then the support want to know which date exactly i created my account? With the hint i could check my mails. Cmon who tf achives an email with the successful account creation of a mobile game account?!? For 9 years… That was maybe a good question after 1 or 2 years but after 9 years cmon… and when i ask which of my given information are wrong, i get a generic answer with all the given information. That makes sense… not… i understand that account security is important but thinking for themselves a little bit would also be great…

What do you mean “thinking for themselves?” The whole point to account security is to verify that the person asking for control of the account is actually the account holder. They have to ask questions only the original account creator would know and someone else trying to hijack the account would not know. They cannot ask a question someone looking at the game account today would be able to trivially look up, because then anyone with temporary access to the account could take it over. A glance at your phone when you weren’t looking would be enough.

Of course they aren’t going to tell you which answers you have wrong. That’s like asking which characters you have wrong on your password.

If you expect them to do some “thinking for themselves” then perhaps you can do some for yourself and suggest a way for them to verify you are the account holder that I couldn’t use immediately afterwards to hijack your account away from you. Or, let’s say, wouldn’t let someone else steal the top ten game accounts on the leaderboards.

Your best bet if you are an iPhone user is to look at your iTunes history. Most people don’t realize that purchase history implicitly contains the date you first downloaded every app including free ones, because when you first downloaded a free app iTunes registers this as a zero dollar purchase. So the very first time you downloaded MCOC, your Apple purchase history will say you “purchased” MCOC for zero dollars. I’m not sure if Google purchase history does the same thing, because I don’t play on Android.

As to the rest of the security questions, you’ll just have to try to remember.

I know that they have to clarify that. I started playing on android and found the first two purchases etc but not the day of the download. And i switched after two years to ios. I could give them the first 10 purchases, i told them to make them screenshots of my apple account and my id-card to clarify thats me. And they didnt want that. And thats the point i mean with thinking for themselves. Its maybe not the way the company wants it but it also could verify me. I could and would show nearly everything except the creation date. Its not realistic that s.o. Saves an email of “hey u successfully created your account at the mobile game xy” for 9 years. And thats what i mean. When my account is 1 or 2 years old is complicated to think about the date but 9 years is in my opinion for me impossible. And in this case they should find another possibility to verify me. Thats my point

What would screenshooting your Apple account prove to them? They don’t actually know what your Apple account is. Apple (and Google) explicitly screen that information from them. App vendors are not allowed to know who you are unless you yourself tell them. Neither Apple nor Google allow app vendors to get that information. When you make a purchase from either App Store, all Apple or Google do is pass along a transaction ID that says this game bought this thing for this much money, go give them their stuff.

I think the fact that you can “log in” with (Apple) Game Center or Google Play suggests to players that they are actually logging in with those accounts. But Kabam isn’t given your Game Center or Google Play information. Instead, a hidden authentication token is created in your account that allows you to access your game account without logging in. That’s what “link to Game Center” means and how you can log in without a Kabam ID. But once again, Kabam isn’t given that information.

If you make a Kabam ID, then they know that name and password and can use that to identify you. That’s why you need that to log into the webstore. But if you don’t create such an ID, they only know you through the game activities you performed in the game, because they have logs of that stuff. They don’t know anything else about you, so none of that information can be used to identify you to them.

They know my gamecenter-id cause i can give it to them. Its an optional point in the given information when opening the ticket. And then i could show them the apple account which is connected to this id and then my id-card… its really wild and crazy i know but for me its easier then knowing the day of creation.i also asked them to give me the mail-address with that the kabam-account is created with many *** in it so only the original user knows it. I had too many mail-addresses cause of multiple old and new domains that i cant tell them all but i would recognize one of them if i see one. I know that all of this is crazy but in my opinion not crazier then knowing the creation of a game account 9 years ago. Like i said i could tell them 10/20/all of my purchases and when i can see the doenload of an app then its not more secure then knowing multiple purchases of this account.
