Despair mastery not working in new AW

Hi all, since the introduction of the new AW format, I've been assigned on the regen path. Logically, you'd want to bring the usual anti regen champs like warlock/nefaria, OR you could use your despair mastery with champs like vox who can place lots of debuffs on the enemy and drain their health through that. This was my train of thought when my first opponent was scream. Scream has autoblock, so logically Vox would be a perfect counter for the node since he's anti-autoblock and can place lots of debuffs on scream. The anti-autoblock works like a charm but I'm noticing her massive health isn't dropping at all even after I placed like 40 degens on her. This kept going until the timer ran out by the way and she's still at full health.

So I did a triple check on my mastery setup and sure enough, my despair is at 3/3 and I did some fights on main quest to check if my despair just to make sure that it's working, and it does.

So now my question is, what the hell? It's not stated anywhere in the nodes in AW or even scream's abilities that despair wouldn't work. I experimented on some other fights during AW off season with other defenders also the same thing, despair doesn't work at all, even if I use debuff heavy champs. Heck quicksilver and nefaria doesn't even work even after I placed tons of debuffs. Only thing that's working so far are actual health drain debuffs from Scorpion, Void, and Nefaria's vampire mode.

The fact that despair is not working severely limits the pool of champs I can bring to this new AW format and I hope this gets looked at.
