When will it end?

I've played this game for a while and I;ve always known that the spenders will have the advantage. But recently theyre not just gettting extra rankups, theyre selling the good 6* champs as 7* and to make them valuble they make them exclusive to that so its really hard for f2p players to get them.

It was almost impossible for a f2p player to get all 6 glorious gaurdians. You literally had to spend crazy to get red gaurdian. Then in HoF as a f2p player that spend 6k I got only apoc, my least diserd. And now torch is gonna be behind a paywall.

I'm in a top 10 alliance and just becuase I'm f2p I don't have access to Fam, nick, red gaurdian, tigra, torch, Sentinal, dpx, medusa, purgatory, bpcw. (I got sentry and apoc the two worst from their respective pools, Yay). So yeah, I have none of them and I've been playing at the top of the game for past year and a half. It's just bullsh*t. And given the omgea champs havnt been released and its been a full year, I wont have acess to fam, nick and tigra till at least end of 2026. That's utterly insane.

This doesnt even take into account that I match people in battlegrounds with 10 r4s while I have a third of that. I didn't even mention that. The gap is too big. I'm not saying it shouldn't be there, there should aways be a gap in between f2p and spenders thats how the game works. but, its just too big

As a whale here is totally can se it starts to get out of hand HOF was okay for my perspective but then 7 star HT. Like. That’s take it over the course and it for sure won’t be the last what next doom. Or something even more explosive. When I said HOF is fine is because one could had save the unit obviously not many would. So. But way to many chess champions get the double spend

It's because exclusives sell, even if they're garbage. If those exclusives are actually good, they sell through the roof. The thought process isn't "screw FTP". It's "milk those whales dry". Screwing FTP is just the side effect...

Ive played the game for a year now, and have developed my account fairly well, but in that same time, I can find accounts that are exponentially larger and it makes the game unfair to those who want to play the game. It's a rich get richer type of thing where, whales spend on the game and in turn can push further in competitive modes, which grants them higher and higher rewards while f2p players get left in the dust at the bottom. There should be a way for f2p players to be able to have a chance at the top. And yes, there's the argument that Kabam needs to make money, but the amount of value locked behind spending real money or spending an absurd amount of time that most people don't have is insane. We had the HoF event locking a high value champ behind hundreds of dollars, next we have HT for the same amount, it makes the game really unfair for players who don't have the money to spend on a game.

It all depends on what the champs on sale are to me tbh

Torch is great and I know lots of people have been wanting him but the science 7* class is stacked to the heavens already (especially with Spider Woman also entering the Titan soon) and I don’t think he’ll be some sorta game changer

I think having the Eidols behind a paywall is silly, I know they’ll be coming later but I’d love to be able to do the chase F2P. We had a few opportunities for the glorious guardians thankfully even F2P so that wasn’t an issue but I do wish they brought the omega days champs back (just for longshot but tbh other than him they weren’t meta relevant at all).

Red Guardian was behind a ridiculous paywall, but the HOF champs were accessible to any F2P who grinds units.
If you don't spend money and you don't grind units like crazy, then you're going to miss out on deals, that shouldn't be surprising.
Also, everyone got a free Guardian of their choice during HOF, so not sure why you picked Sentry if you think he's trash.

While that’s true, it was only possible if you didn’t spend all your units on last year’s banquet. If you did, the max you could grind before May was like 30k. And that’s if you didn’t spend any between January to April, because you would only know about HoF in April.

It would have been nice if Kabam gave further advance notice that an event like this would happen. I could only grind 12k in the time between announcement and event, and I got nothing but sig 40 Apoc for it (also my least desired).

Yes at banquet but then they gave everyone the Guardian selector for free during the RedGuardian event (unless people chose to use the points on other goodies).

Anything related strictly to units its F2P friendly. They got more events now and more units available to grab. Just gotta make your choice on which one you want to focus. 4/7 and CM are cash events.

I think as a F2P you have to grind all the time no matter what.
And then choose which couple of events a year you decide to go all in on.
But OP was saying they didn't get anything good at banquet, didn't get anything good at HOF, etc.
That only makes sense if you don't grind and save units for these events.

That’s a different situation . Red Guardian is an exclusive champion (not available anywhere else), while Count Nefaria was essentially “pay $600 for 3 months early access". Yes, the Count costs more, but is not a paywalled champion.

But to OP’s point - I agree. Each individual decision seems reasonable. "Sure, Saga chase champions seems like a fun idea that rewards playing the game. Oh sure, these 6 champions seem like desirable Omega choices. Oh, look at these 6 Banquet champions. Oh, look at these 6 other Banquet champions. Hm, Eidol behind a paywall since no one cares about these champions anyways. Uh.... new Omega type champions that some people will get and some will not when last year's Omega champions aren't yet available? What.... spend 36k+ units for Dark Phoenix!.... oh look, Human Torch...."

Looking at all the decisions as a whole makes it so there is too much exclusivity going on. There is definitely a slide towards make exclusivity the norm as opposed to something special. I acknowledge that Kabam needs some way to make money, but the exclusivity button is being spammed.

i totally get OP's point and frustration, but one thing us scrubs can never buy is skill and you have that. i hope that you'll still land in the top BG leaderboards as proof that skill matters the most.

If it makes you feel any better, I have everybsingle one of the champs you listed and I just about never used any of them. They just sit and collect dust for the most part. They aren't making a remarkable difference. Which is why you're f2p and still in a top 10 alliance. Its all about how you use the roster you have, not how big your roster is. Size only matters for collectors.

Seeing HT behind this red guardian type sale confirmed my suspicions.
Kabam will continue to take advantage of the playerbases desire for the OP 6stars and release them one by one with some for of payment involved.
I mean, you can't really be mad that a company makes great decisions to pull in money (that's what the game runs on afterall).

Its just sad that that's what they've decided to do. There was no reason for HOF not being a gatcha box other than the fact that they wouldn't have capitalized on the RNG aspect of the game which eventually led to dark phoenix costing as much as she did.

I do not think kabam will be releasing the great 6star champions regularly unless they decide to be generous and drop a huge bomb as the next idols replacement.
They released galan (who alot of the community thinks is still a top Guy) so there's that. Kabam W!!!

For now, enjoy your red hulks and spidey supreme level of 6stars getting released as titan pool 7stars.

Honestly the changes recently have all been so exhausting and have actually helped me step away from the game and become super casual. It’s too expensive and time consuming to keep up with. It feels like a boot on my throat and the game itself is not fun or enjoyable enough to be worth the stress to keep up with it all. I honestly can’t imagine how the players in high end alliances keep up with it. It demands so much time and money.

I’m not F2P and am ok with paying for a solid event and/or grinding to save up for something I know is coming, but the current pay ask is all the time now. You can’t grind enough to keep up and the monetary price tag on this stuff is absolutely insane.

Also, having the idols being technically obtainable as F2P as long as you finish 1st in arena is laughably slimy. It feels like they are going to squeeze as much blood from the remaining dedicated players while they still can. And on top of all that, that actual game performs so poorly and it’s taking years to fix. But here comes the monthly $500-1k price tags for a meta champ. It feels incredibly exploitative.
