Champs locked behind events

I know making money is important to the business model but is there any way to allow the less spendy people to acquire omega days, HoF, and champs like red guardian and torch without spending a large lump some? Yes we could use 6 star versions but now content is slowly coming out to where we need 7 stars exclusively. Not trying to get pity or shame any spenders. It’s gonna be pretty hard to be relevant in competitive modes with these new bangers being limited.

Spending money buys exclusivity. If you’re not able to spend what is needed for the champs, you will catch up in time when they are widely released. Just like when each new rank comes out and spenders have a leg up during/after banquet until the mats become more available.

You understand how much money people had to pay to get dark phoenix, over £1000!!!! That is money NO ONE should be spending for some ‘exclusivity’ in a mobile game. Nor is it money people should need to spend just to be a little relevant in high tier content.

Additionally, you said non spenders will ‘catch up’ like it hasn’t been OVER A YEAR since the omega days champions were openly available. the prices of these champions is outrageous nonetheless and it really hurts to see people struggling to have fun in a game because it comes at an insane cost.

No one is asking anyone to spend. Spenders will spend whether it’s a good or bad deal. If no one spends then this game will end. I haven’t spent a cent on this game, and I don’t mind if people get new champs and gain advantages, and they should. So I thank them for spending and keeping this game alive.

And as you have mentioned dark phoenix, she is obtainable with 40k units, which you can grind for, no1 really has to pay $1000. Red guardian and eidols and probably HT on the other hand, will need to spend. But it’s your choice. July4th coming, so better save those units.

If you are a non-spender, there are plenty of good champ’s available to use for any mode atm, so missing out on one, a couple of a few won’t hurt your personal progression. If you want fun, you can use the 6* versions as well.

You would be more ticked off when you have spent thousands of dollar on banquet to get the first r4s and then they go and give one or two free r4s a month or two later.

Dark phoenix aside (I have her, spent 150 bucks in red and dead shed), OP has a point that has been discussed elsewhere as well:

3-4 exclusive champs mostly locked behind a paywall is too much FOMO to handle every saga.

Especially when exclusivity is indefinite.

Especially when some of these aren’t just “nice to have” - Lumatrix and Dark Phoenix are absolutely broken.

I have Dark phoenix. And all the other HoF champs. Amount spent: Zero.
Grinded units, and got lucky on the crystals to get all champs.
Now, I wont have many units for July sale, but it was a trade off I accepted at the time.

even starting with zero units you didn't need to spend even close to that for dark phoenix, that's just blatantly wrong.

If games do not incentivize a progression boost for spending, they would never make any money. If they never make any money, they get shut down. It is a necessary part of any free game's existence.

Spenders will always have the advantage as that's the whole point of spending but, if you're not a spender and you want to stay remotely competitive then you have to be grinding arena all the time. That way you can participate in some of the events, not all granted but enough to keep you relevant.

If you don't want to do this then you just have to accept that won't be able to compete to level that you otherwise might want to and take what you can get, when you get and be happy with that.
