Did your BG profile pic automatically change to a different one like mine did?

Last season, and all of the previous seasons, my "match-up" pic was CMM. This season it was automatically changed to Ironheart, but CMM is still my account profile pic. Now I have 2 different profile pics displayed.

Is this change unintentional? Or was it announced somewhere and I missed it?

Also, should've considered this before you took up IronHeart to r4. She has more prestige than CMM.

If you have it set to top champ, to others it will appear as your champ with the top prestige, meaning without masteries. Ironheart has higher prestige than CMM

If I have what set to top champ? What is the "it"? I'm seriously trying to understand what's going on. My champion profile shows CMM as my top champ. But prestige changes that for BG's??

Technically I do rank other champs. The Strat that I’ve been using for the last many years is to strategically underlevel them after ranking them so they don’t overtake. Account for where they would be at s200, even if they’re not s200 yet, and leave them low enough so their prestige remains under control.

"It" refers to profile picture. You can either use a custom picture, in which case everyone(including you) will see that, or you can set it to default(top champ),in which case you will see the one with highest PI and everyone else will see the one with highest Prestige

The top champ and arrangement of top 4 you see is the champion with the highest PI (prestige + relic + ascension + masteries, etc)

The champs everyone else sees is the highest Prestige + Ascension (no masteries, no relic)

Why is it like that? Why are they even shown something different? Why is the switch necessary? Could they not just show my same BGs pic? I'm sorry. I haven't known about this detail of the game, so it's really confusing.

Either you can choose a designed profile picture, or you can choose your top champ. If you choose your top champ(for you it is CMM,you can't choose anyone else) , then it will show CMM for you and IronHeart for everyone else. Not just in BG, but everywhere. Nobody has seen your CMM after you ranked IronHeart.

You can choose a normal CMM without the 7* purple border if you wish to do so.

Ooh ok. I think I got cha now. Another question ...Ironheart isn't a custom profile pic. So in this case, the game selects based on prestige? So now I have to pay attention to other champs prestige before I rank them up (something I never cared about 😂) just so they don't overtake my preferred profile pic?
