Member Posts: 13

OP, they gotta draw the line somewhere, even if you've used it for 10 years legitimately. it sucks but they can't allow modded software.

Kabam is simply taking increased measures to enforce rules they've had in place since the beginning. It isn't their fault that you had to break those rules because of decisions your government has made. It isn't unfriendly in the slightest; it's protecting the integrity of the game. Rules are rules.

I had been a legit player since day 1 of this game (10 years player, lived in APAC as a chinese, but not in Mainland China. I did NOT get banned since I always used one device only: Iphone to play the game everyday. I always update from Apple App store. Simple as that) I would say this time, this is really not friendly for mainland Chinese player (feel sorry for them), but I definitely can understand why Kabam do this: Any android apk from 3 party site can have some modification in the file itself which would result in possible unknown cheating effect in gaming experience.

Finally, there is no way that Mainland Chinese player can get the android version from google store:

The Google Play Store is not natively available in mainland China due to the country's censorship restrictions and the Great Firewall. This means that users in China cannot directly download and install apps from the Google Play Store

So, with that, in common sense, if no official google store access, there is no legit way for Mainland Chinese player to even have an account in MCOC?

If the TOS really had stated the use of apk from any 3rd party site is restricted, then Kabam had done nothing wrong.

The only thing that Kabam did wrong is probably enforce it late for Mainland Chinese player.

btw, for mainland chinese player, the only other way that they can play this game on mobile- use iDevice .. e.g. Iphone

    per google:

Yes, "Marvel Contest of Champions" is available on the Apple App Store in China. While the specific download and user experience might vary depending on the user's account region, the game is generally accessible within the Chinese App Store.

However, I don't think there is anyway to transfer existing player data from Android to Apple .

I would wait for a response on Monday/early next week about the China situation, even if it's just that you're out of luck. I'm sure they have thought of it, or are currently coming up with a plan, and have an answer (though I know others won't believe me on this).

From today on, don’t use any products from China, because they are against China, rules are rules, ok?

Do you have a point in your useless non-addition to the conversation?
Besides making no sense, your comment has nothing to do with what I said. The Chinese government banned Google. You want Kabam to let people break their rules for a situation that has nothing to do with them?

Let's see if Kabam is happy to say bye bye to the revenue from China, although they have already lost majority of it years ago because they were too greedy and created a localized version to maximize "pay-to-win" mode in China, btw, Chinese players didn't buy it at that time.

Rules are rules, Trump made a lot of rules, enjoy your rules in the next 3.5 years or probably forever.

Chinese players are still playing, or the Chinese market is so small it won't matter.

10,000 people were banned, which if it is the entire market of China that was banned, includes other people from around the world, so it is well less than 10,000 for the Chinese population. Or Chinese players are still playing somehow (PC maybe), so the China market will be ok.

The game also works just fine on iPhones through the App Store. Only android has an issue in China because of the Google ban, but Kabam still offers the game through every avenue that is legal in the country and within the ToS.

    It wasn’t 10,000.

It was over 10,000. Two very different numbers.

Yes, but when you're talking about numbers in this manner, you use what's called friendly numbers. If it was closer to 15,000, they probably would have said about 15,000. The number is still most likely close to 10,000 so you're just nitpicking. It's not like they banned 50,000 people and said it was over 10,000 people.

But you are correct, if that's what you wanted to here. I should have said about, or over 10,000. The number won't be vastly different unless they add more to it in future bans and reviews.
