Urgent: Wrongfully Suspended During Anti-Cheat Wave - 7-Day Ban Without Justification

ÉtrangerÉtranger Member Posts: 3
Dear Kabam(mcoc) Team,
On June 7, 2025, at 11:00 AM (UTC+8), my account was abruptly suspended for 7 days due to alleged "third-party tool usage." I write today in good faith, confident this was a grave error in your detection system. As a loyal player for nearly four years, I’ve never engaged in cheating—this ban not only penalizes innocence but undermines trust in your enforcement. I implore you to review this case urgently.
1. Device: Huawei Nova 7 (Android 10, EMUI 12)
2. Installation Source: Google Play Store, downloaded via OurPlay (a legitimate Android-compatibility tool)
3. Play Duration: Daily player since 2021 (~4 years), totaling 2,000+ hours
4. Zero Violations: Never used cheats, macros, or account-sharing tools. My gameplay relies solely on skill and dedication.
Thousands of legitimate players using OurPlay or similar tools report identical wrongful bans. We understand your fight against cheaters—but when automated systems misfire, real humans bear the cost. As Voltaire warned, "Injustice in the end produces independence"—yet we want to remain in your community.
Many affected players are students with limited device options. Huawei users (without native Google services) depend on tools like OurPlay to access games. Banning us for this is akin to punishing circumstance, not malice. We invested years building our accounts; losing event rewards or ranked progress due to a false positive is devastating.
We respectfully ask:
1. Please immediate review and reversal of wrongful bans.
2. Please compensation for lost time/resources (events, dailies, rankings).
3. Please technical refinement to distinguish legitimate tools from cheats.
4. Please policy adjustment to avoid banning players for installation sources alone.
We fully endorse your anti-cheat efforts! Clean environments benefit us all. However, a 7-day ban erases hard-earned progress, demoralizes loyal players, and may inadvertently push others away for fear of false flags. When good-faith players feel unprotected, the game loses its lifeblood—its community.
As Theodore Roosevelt said, "Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care." We believe in mcoc’s potential—that’s why we’ve stayed for years. By addressing this, you’ll reaffirm that our dedication matters. We urge transparency and action to resolve this wave of errors, ensuring both game integrity and player justice.
Thank you for your time. We eagerly await your response and resolution.
Sincerely,
A Concerned Loyal Player

This happened to me too. I've been playing since the game came out. The community won't care, Karam won't care. Incredibly disappointing

Does using vpn get you banned cuz I use vpn for other things such as work etc.. but I always off it before playing so I'm not sure if I might have accidentally played using vpn but still I agree with the original post cuz it's not fair especially for f2p players cuz 7 days is a BIG hit for some players who are grinding bgs

You weren't banned or suspended for cheating. You downloaded a game from a non-official source, OurPlay. Kabam has not authorized this source to use as a safe download for the game client. This is why action was taken on your account. You have a phone to where Google Play isn't native to the phone.

I would assume those thousands of people you talked about were part of the bans as well if they play MCOC.

As I understand it, OurPlay is a virtual environment that allows people to install Google Play services and Google apps that might be otherwise blocked on their phones. This is unfortunately prohibited. I sympathize with your desire to circumvent region blocking, but the problem is Kabam cannot allow people to use authorized sources of the game or running it in a virtual environment because this facilitates cheating. It isn’t a question of trying to separate those who are cheating from those who are not. If you allow players to run in virtual or emulated environments you can no longer do that. These environments can theoretically do anything, which means they can be configured to circumvent any anticheating tools Kabam builds into their game. That’s why they are prohibited.

Again, I sympathize with players who want to play perfectly fair, but playing in this manner uses the tools cheaters use to both cheat and avoid detection. There’s no practical way to ban the cheaters using such tools without banning everyone using them.

Additionally, if you consider this ban as a tactical measure, I must point out that to my knowledge, a large number of players who downloaded through unofficial channels remain unbanned. Numerous players using automation tools for Arena mode haven't been punished either - they expend zero time investment and spend not a single penny, while perfectly timing their cheating to mimic legitimate gameplay patterns. These exploiters massively purchase special offer bundles, severely damaging game balance. Isn't this far more critical? Compared to these fake players, shouldn't genuine players who truly love this game (who overcome significant obstacles just to play) deserve greater appreciation and protection?Furthermore, retaining players hinges absolutely on your attitude and approach to handling these matters!!!

You broke the rules, you reap the rewards. Access the game correctly or don't play it.

Try logging in again, if you didn't do any of these things. I had received a 7 day suspension, filed a ticket, but got no response besides a generic form letter warning not to sideload, etc. A little while ago, I went to log in, and I appear to be un-suspended. So, even though they've been silent, Kabam seems to be working to rectify wrongful bans.

You must not overreact to shadows and punish indiscriminately, unjustly accusing us players with baseless charges. Instead, you should focus on improving your detection technology—this is the only path for a truly exceptional game company worthy of players' devotion.I believe that your positive and good problem-solving attitude will make you more successful, and in turn, we know that water can overwhelm a boat.
Any errors in the detection system aside, people are not being punished indiscriminately or unjustly. Unauthorized clients and environments are a threat to fair play. The fact that some players use them to gain access to the game with no intent of cheating is unfortunate but irrelevant. There is no way to tell the difference between a cheater using unauthorized tools and a fair player using unauthorized tools. I know everyone wants a magic spell that can tell the difference, but there isn't. If there were such a thing possible, someone would have invented it by now.

It really comes down to this. If you want to catch cheaters, especially cheaters smart enough to not do something incredibly stupid, you need the game clients to report what's happening and trust they will report that data reliably. If a player uses an unauthorized client or runs in an unauthorized environment, they can in theory do anything, change anything, and do so in an undetectable way. All you can do is detect when it isn't your own client running in a trustworthy environment, and prevent it from connecting to the game.

We can ban players who use such things, or we can block the clients. But if we just block them and allow the players to keep trying over and over, we are in effect allowing them to figure out how to evade detection. Eventually they will succeed. This is a fundamental principle of systems security. If you let people try until they succeed, they always eventually do.

I accessed the game correctly. Used only google play, didn't use any cheats and i still got banned

Yep seems to mine have been lifted as well. I lost tons of iso from my overflow. I think i also lost primordial essence and some 6* stones ;(
