BG pause battle is the way

Why bother playing the game? Just do a single combo and pause the game...

I guess I am just stupid for trying to play the game fair.

I played the battle and met my inevitable doom to the Chavez who can only be beaten in this meta by Silk infinite combo cheese. I could have done like him and paused before the inevitable SP2 one shot. Is it really how the mode is meant to be played?

If she gets all three wiffs on her heavy you get 40% energy damage returned, and she can easily stay on a constant 1 bar of power only needing to get hit once to get to SP2 and game over.

Fair shout, but the point still remains that claiming Photon is the best counter and sugar coating that a pause strategy can do more points with a single combo and pause than taking over 50% hp of the opponent is hardly helpful to the argument.

It's not the pauser's fault you lost that match honestly.
And focusing your blame there instead of looking inward and figuring out what you did wrong in that fight and how you can improve is a huge roadblock you're putting up against yourself.
And I'm really not trying to dunk on you. I've been in your shoes; choose the hard path of trying to get better and don't focus so much on what your opponent did or didn't do.
A ton of good BG players stream their matches every season; it's a great resource.

I am not claiming to be a good player or that I lost only because of the pause. I am merely pointing out that pausing the battle after a single combo should never be more points than taking half the hp of the opponent.

This season there are a lot of blind sided matches ending with less than 5k points. And this was not an isolated event. Many players are doing this.

You scored 17k points and didn't win.. rounds go sideways for me all the time haha.. but when I come out of the fight screen I expect to lose the round.. if it happens to go even more sideways for the other guy.. I'm pleasantly surprised, but I would certainly have expected to lose that round

If you stay close and actually hit your parries (you should obviously try trigger conflictor bleed before, or just hit the reparry) chavez pretty consistently won't throw any heavies

also importantly if/when she does throw a heavy that doesn't automatically mean death, if u punish the first hit of the heavy, you won't get any damage reflect nor will the sp2 be unblockable. And at one dimension her sp1 power gain isn't that much, especially if you parry the 2nd hit instead of dexing to avoid md.

I've used plenty of champs v chavez, as long as you're aggressive and play well ive never really have an issue

Or maybe they disconnected and reconnected after their fight ended, happened with me so many times, fight ends and I randomly disconnect amd it starts again with a huge chunk of time gone and fight reset.

I feel like the power gain is too much here. It’s causing the AI from my gameplay side to be more defensive and just take its time to build up its power bars while i just endlessly dance back and forth dealing small to nothing hits.

If you can’t beat a 22k score with photon against Chavez then you don’t deserve to win the round, Also i believe your opponent didn’t pause he just got disconnected and had to restart the game and there wasn’t much time to finish the fight. It has happened with me several times as well. so yeah you were cooked either way
