Ironheart over sentinel is the forums okay?? I mean unm she's clearly Goated but where were y'all when she's released? Why getting hyped suddenly after r4s a thing?
Btw I'll second what rayven said, sent is better dual threat.

I went sentinel over ironheart for the dual purpose aspect. Even with act 9, there simply isn’t the same value in a questing champ. Everything is choice nodes now (valiant eq, WOF)… so it seems like the days of clearing a lane with a champ that matches up well are over.
Can she do BG’s? yeah… but not quickly. I personally wish the game wasn’t trending this way, but it is. Choice nodes have made questing champs even less valuable
Both are awakened who should I take up I’m on act 9.
Both are great, but I think Ironheart's utility will take you further. Sentinel has great utility also, and is very useful, but if you're not BGs or AW focused, then you don't need a dual threat champ.

Dr. Zola
Ironheart is the better pure attacker though.
Sentinel is more or less a defender, performs decently on attack too.

She can easily manage Bullseye and Photon, works pretty well against Zola.
Once she's got debuffs up, she can safely Parry in the Conflictor meta, just like she could in the stun-reflect meta.
I use her there all the time. Not that BGs are my favourite area.
