BG’s matching - again!

Just wondering if anyone can comment on the way in which bg’s matchmaking works? I ask because the matches I consistently get are with accounts that are WAY stronger than mine - often 20%+ more in terms of PI. Whilst I recognise there’s more to it than PI, for example with the luck of who appears in your selection, but I never get matched with accounts that are 20% lower account level than mine. How does this work??

Your matched with anyone in the same bracket as you. That's it. The only requirement. The only other way to get matched with anyone else is if your matchmaking didn't find anyone in the same bracket in a certain amount of time then it goes one up or down.

I’m in GC. My pi is 27k-ish (inc relics). Last matchup was against a 34k pi account 😩 If it’s like Buttehrs says, that would explain it tho

Its free for all, there is no matching system and there shouldn't be one.

So by that logic, it’s just massive accounts in GC at the moment and I should give it a rest for a week

@Shinyyoungster just play till you reach GC play one match and skip the rest ofd the season.. BG is not a F2P gamemode anymore my friend so thats why u match whale decks its a whale gamemode.😉

There will always be massive accounts everywhere. You just gotta grow yours too.

What would you classify as a whale at this point?
Most accounts in GC now have about 3-4 R4s and the rest R3s, but all of that is easily obtainable without spending a dime on this game.

Exactly this. Bgs matches you up against someone with close to your rating regardless of roster strength. Eventually other people with close to your roster should catch up with you.

Some suggestions @Shinyyoungster

1. Try playing at different times of day
2. Try playing with different fight currencies
3. Try playing closer to expiration of BG objectives or shortly after they refresh

No guarantee, but might help.

The reason this post has any disagrees is that the whales are worried that if people listen to @KillerM , they might actually have to face a competitive opponent to get their radiance.

I'm on 130 points in gc right now sitting in quantum 2. Most of the accounts I'm facing and have faced have had 3 or 4 r4s which is the around the limit for pure ftp players right now. There are plenty of ftp players in the gc bud unless you classify anyone with an r4 as a whale which if you do then you're a moron.

It’s literally a competition, everyone is competing for the same rewards. This means you will match anyone else competing for the same rewards. If they have bigger accounts, too bad, that’s how competition works.

This guy is complaining about large/stacked accounts in GC, meanwhile I am fighting this in Vibranium 5...




Buddy, there is a lot more coming to GC...

By the way, kudos to the guy in the screenshot for not trolling the emotes. Rare to see stacked accounts not just outright making fun of others when they walk over smaller accounts.

Where’s the complaint? I asked how it works. Thankfully there were some helpful answers and they weren’t all like yours. Facing accounts with 2 r4’s like you posted would be a dream pal.
