Alliance war energy issue

I just started new alliance war, went for only 1 node and 3 of my energies were used. I think my energy level was 4 when i joined and i didn't even do any war since yesterday. The energy should be full and it should use only 1 or max 2 energy level not more than that.
Any reason for this to happen? I think this has happened before as well few times but i didn't pay that much attention.

    You only start with full energy in AQ. AW always starts with 4. It's just not always noticeable because, if you're like most in my alliance, players usually don't join in the first 24 hours, let alone the first 90 minutes.

    Isn’t it also that the timer starts counting down for additional energy only after the very 1st person joins AW ?

    So when 1st person joins, everyone's energy starts at 4, so that if others don’t join until some hours after the first person then they will come in already full at 6 ??
