Is Kabam ignoring f2p players completely?

First we had that HOF event that was mostly for spenders and only those who grinded arena 24/7. Next we have a lot of champions that are locked behind paywall. Then this new wheel of fate which even big spenders hate. I mean why release an endgame content that 99% of players will hate? I know kabam is a company that wants to make profit but they can't just ignore a whole community to have like 1000 or 2000 people happy. Something needs to be done.

F2P friendly doesn't mean free or low cost, it means accessible at no cost. HoF was F2P friendly. In everything Kabam does spenders are almost certainly going to benefit more, or at least more easily, but when the only required cost is units then it is by definition F2P friendly. I got Dark Phoenix with units I earned through grinding and not through spending. I recognize not every did that, but everyone did have access to that.

We're still seeing posts of players looking for advice on Epoch, right? Well I had that done in the first week, why didn't those guys? Because they had to work towards it and build up their roster. So the idea of aspirational content is not an issue and hasn't bothered any of us before.
The problem in this scenario isn't the mindset, but rather the content itself. The rewards aren't worth it for the players that can do it now, and they will be worth even less by the time the players that can't do it now can do it later. The content has got to be the worst late April Fools prank anyone has ever pulled, because they can't possibly be serious with this garbage.

I'm not F2P but I'm certainly no whale, probably somewhere more like a tuna or sea otter. I don't like the amount of monetisation either but I do know that licensing a product like Marvel isn't cheap. Some licences actually increase in cost year on year because of things like brand association and not just inflation.

The balance feels off at the moment, I agree, but those who pay always need to get something ahead of everyone else otherwise why put money into the game at all?

They make ridiculously amount of money during July 4th, Cyber Weekend, Banquet event and a lot of big whales spending thousands casually without even these events. If they make Human Torch available to f2p I don't think will break the economy of the game or completely shut the gap between whales and f2ps. It's one champion. Same going with Eidols.

It is. I do it all the time. Content doesn't need units, just patience to restock revives naturally if you need to. Arena takes a few hours a week to do in total with today's rosters. It's not 24/7 anymore in the slightest.

It's not for everyone though I respect that, but if you want to participate in j4/hof/cyber events as a ftp then you pretty have to do it to some degree

I'm currently grinding arenas for 4th July. I have a full time job and I'm telling you it's not possible to grind all arenas to get all units.

Mate so I do. I literally do it every week, it is possible. I'm sitting on 11k units in a month right now after using all my units bar 2k on HoF.

Last year I grinded enough units to max out j4, banquet and a lot of cyber weekend.

It's tedious at times, but its the price you pay when you want to vaguely keep up in this game.

No, but spenders keep the lights on. Without them there is no game. This is something that I think some ftp players fail to grasp. They think they are the pure players because they play the game the 'right way' and the spenders are cheaters essentially. The reality is it's the spenders that allow you to play the game for free at all, and this game in all honesty is one of the most ftp plays out there in what it offers that part of the community.

True, but a never-ending supply of high progression F2Ps is necessary to keep the whales happy and engaged and spending.
F2Ps are the cannon fodder that whales pay to dominate, the bodies that fill the matchups, and the audience that makes their flex worth anything.

If they have optional ads they can't advertise their app in playstore and appstore so it affects their new downloads.

For example look at candy crush and look at mcoc, mcoc don't have that tag "contains ads" it. Really affects the number of new downloads a lot.
