Kabam team: I am willing to be a guinea pig for VM's

THE_COLLECT0RTHE_COLLECT0R Member Posts: 98 ★★
I have a Mac computer, so unfortunately I don't have access to the computer version of MCOC. HOWEVER! I do have Parallels Desktop, which has a Windows Virtual Machine on my Mac. I want to try it on my account (only have 1), but also don't want to get banned. I know there have been others questioning if VM's will work. I have downloaded the client from the official MCOC site onto the VM, but idk if there will be something flagged... Is there anyone that I could communicate with as I test this method? My biggest concern is that I will be banned because it is through a VM. Anyone @ Kabam (or any community members?) have any insight?

Start a new account that you won't miss, play it a bit, then ask support to review your account and make sure it's within ToS. I think this is one of those questions that won't have an answer until someone guinea pigs, and it's all going to depend on how their software views a virtual Windows OS.

But if Kabam bans one of your acc's, don't they ban all of them. Like if I am "against" ToS, then I am no longer allowed to play MCOC, no matter the account, right? Sorry, I am new to this whole "going against the ToS" thing ;)... I just want to make sure at the end of the day, my 9 year old acc w/ 5 r4's doesn't get yeeted into the void.

They do not. They can, but they don't. Actions are taken against individual accounts and rarely, if ever, are taken against individuals themselves. Cheaters can keep coming back because of how rarely Kabam takes action beyond just the one account they're banning. You'd have to do something pretty egregious, beyond just cheating, for Kabam to yeet your existence and any ability you have to play the game. If your other account has no signs of foul play, there would be no reason for them to do anything.
There is a moment from Kabam Miike's time where he threatened (not sure if he carried it out) to ban this guy's accounts and everyone in his family because of his actions, but his actions were related to being an absolute sewer dweller of a human being and not anything in game.

Kabam only bans all of your accounts if you have ticked them off enough. Typically you wont be doing that by doing anything in game, but you do if you come to forums spamming squid games on many different forum accounts.

I am not a Kabam spokesperson, so take this with a grain of salt. However, given what I know, if you install the PC version of MCOC cleanly onto a Parallels desktop and only play newly created accounts, and never play your live account on that platform, Kabam has no real way to connect the virtual account with your live ones. They are not likely to ban your normal mobile accounts on account of detecting something unusual on your Parallels account.

However, getting banned is likely to be the least of your problems. Because the PC version of MCOC is compiled for Intel, you will need to enable Intel emulation in Parallels. My guess is even if it works, the performance will be horrible. Like really, really, really horrible. You might be measuring login times with a wall calendar.

This is good to know, and makes me want to try it even more!!
