Spider woman question

So I was lucky enough for once to pull spider woman out of a valiant. I haven’t gotten to test her yet. Photon has avoided me for a long time for the leftmost epoch path, but I’ve always said I would r3 immediately…possibly r4. However, if spider woman can do what photon does on that path, and is a dual threat like people say, I’ll work on r3ing her. Has anyone gotten some real experience with her yet? Does she NEED awakening?

She’s excellent, she has a good bit of utility with the immunities, ensnare, wither and severe typed power stings. The damage is very solid and her rotation is pretty easy to pull off.

The awakening is not needed for her to be a good champion, but it’s quite beneficial. Being able to gain passive furies when your fury buffs are consumed or nullified is really nice for high, stable damage output, particularly in some mystic fights. Being able to gain additional furies by intercepting is also great since that’s already beneficial in her base kit (starting combo when not stunned for more furies). The evade I haven’t found super useful yet but it’s a nice safety net against some annoying specials.

I wouldn’t say her damage is bad unduped, but you feel the difference for sure. Unduped vs low sig vs high sig, there’s definitely a bump in damage for each.

Overall she’s incredibly solid offensively. I can’t personally comment much on her defensive performance as mine is typically banned in BGs but from what I’ve seen from others, she seems tricky in the right scenario. Inflicting the instant shocks and therefore power stings through block means you need to time a special bait when fumble is not on you. The fumble debuff is severe so you need to use tranq, endurance or simply throw a special to remove it. Alternatively pushing her to sp2 makes her a lot less threatening if you can manage to.
