Vault of the Variants Side Quest confusion: Heavy not removing defender's Protection

I read through these nodes thoroughly, and still hesitated to post just in case I missed something. If I did, can somebody please point out what I missed?

Doesn't the node say Heavy attacks will remove Protection, or am I mistaken?

In this fight, I used back to back heavies, yet neither of them were removed. I did this fight twice. In the other, the defender started with 2 Protection buffs, but the node doesn't mention that defender will start with that many, or gain any from a timer or an action. So why did it gain an extra protection buff?

He has two protection passives. One is removed by heavy, the other is disabled during your Specials

The other protection is probably because of special connoisseur since it's active until you throw a special with prowess active.

The heavy didn't remove the protection though. And why didn't the node mention the passives?

OG Storm..the queen of prowess. Watch the video though. The node is Ebb and Flow-Heavy. It says heavy attacks will remove Protection. But when I used heavies, they didn't remove the protection.

That second protection (that isn't being removed from the heavy) is from special conniseir in your video. It will disappear when you launch a special with storm.

Smoked him with OG Storm. Build up to SP2, throw heavy, wait for GR's special and then launch SP2.

It removed the first protection from the heavy. The second one will go away when you launch a special with prowess. You can’t remove both of them with heavies.

I had problems with it too, bishop didn't care for such things however.

This should make it clear. There are two protection passives

One for heavy
One for specials with prowess.

I used Bishop but yeah it's not a great set of nodes, giving him 2 protections every 12(?) seconds plus the unblockable after 10 hits. THe most annoying fight so far in this month's SQ.

"90% reduced damage" . That is the one indicated by the protection. When you throw a special with a special , that protection will disappear

The protection does not disappear if the defender blocks the special, he then goes unblockable and combos you.

OG Storm with prowess does a wonderful job. Wait until you have 2 bars then throw heavy to get rid of first protection. Then launch special which will get rid of second protection. No issues with the fight for me

Lmao I swear I'm not. Just confused bc when I've seen a passsive anything before, the node would mention there would be that passive. So this just threw me off 😂
