Spending units now or saving units for Cyber Weekend or later?

The unit deals were a little underwhelming for those with 15k or less. Will you be buy any of the unit deals or continue saving.

spent 750 units for t6cc and pass everything else. at this point , how can they value a r4 is more than 18k units?

I didn’t buy any UNIT deals last year from all the big spending events to save for next year (2025)

Maybe 2026 July 4th will be better?

Units will be relevant forever but everything will devalue,

It’s just that how long will they keep 7* torch gated?

FOMO is crazy, but it’s nice having a lot of units but when it comes to kabam and unit deals like 2025 4th July and heart of fire is showing they want to lead with fomo in getting chanpions.

Save all ur units for next year July 4th lol and you prob get r5 7*’s!

It’s a joke that 18,000 units gets you no more than 1.6 t7b, while one Odin gets you the same amount, give or take 10%.

These deals are great for new valiants I guess, but I don’t see how we got to this point where 18,000 units gets you half a r4.

I’m def getting the first deal to get another r3 (or two since I already had some of the mats), but thinking on the second deal bc a 7 star for 3k units is hard to pass up when it could have a spider woman dupe or a first time zola for me. Or exclusive champs from omega days

18k units brought me a Starky I wouldn't obtain in another way and a generic gem. I'm not saying it was the best but I feel like my units didn't go totally wasted. I also have completed every endgame content ( except Carina's challenges )so I didn't need units for that.

There’s no guarantee that Cyber or Banquet will be any better, just keep that in mind. Don’t forget how much everyone was disappointed in banquet last year.

I think most of us, myself absolutely included, over-manage resources and overthink when / how to spend units/mats/gems/shards/money. It’s a game, not a hedge fund.

Do you have champs right now that would be more useful / fun if they were ranked? Or are there several champs in the Titan that you don’t have? If so, go for it. You can enjoy those rankups and have more fun for the next four or five months before another big sale.

I think everyone is afraid of missing out on 2023 J4 sales that blew the doors off everything…

Kabam has said and have followed through with the promise that it won’t happen again. The key isn’t to nibble at these events. Store units and go all in on one. If you can’t, skip it and get the next one you can. Just understand you can always talk yourself out of it and have others tell you how it isn’t worth it to go all in… and you can hoard your units forever and not do anything.

Meh. I'm at the point that I'm not saving units for mega sales anymore. They've become so disappointing and clearly catered towards whales that I don't see the point anymore.

Instead, my focus is going to be on getting the rest of the Deathless champs. If a good deal or two comes up along the way while I'm saving, then I go for them. But I'm done with long-term hoarding for lackluster sales events.

Seeing we have at least 4 unit spending events each year now, I think a case can be made to save your units for an event you think is worth your units.

See, that's my problem: There isn't one worth my units. They're all overblown disappointments. Even banquets has become a wash now, which is the biggest of all.

I agree, only the one where you could get the 6 champions(forgot the event name) is really worth it for me because you get guaranteed value there in champions.

Of course there’s actually no certainty. Remember J4 2023? On a relative basis, that sale was wildly better than anything we’ve seen since. You don’t know if banquet will be better or worse than J4 on a relative basis, no matter how much you might wish otherwise.

I didn’t spend 39k units because I conducted a cost/value analysis. It’s a GAME. I love Starky but those CCP challenges were never going to happen. I really like champs like torch…easy to play and I don’t care about higher than normal chip damage cause I am not blitzing GC upper ranks. Throw in 2 rank 4’s, 2 rank 3’s and the best titan pool arguably ever (where I got two nexuses that netted Okoye and Jean Grey) and… why not? You might have one event that has a champ or two you value more than me and go all in for that….. it’s all subjective. The days of your roster jumping multiple levels are over. That’s what all the complaining is about now IMO… which is funny because that is what no one was happy about when they existed.

Exactly. I think wildly transformative sales (J4 2023) are probably gone for good. (Think, but I don’t know for sure.) Feels like their strategy is more frequent but less insane sales. Sometimes they will show up when it makes sense to spend and sometimes they won’t. Everybody just has to call it based on their account.

Save for cyber weekend, then when ti comes around, get disappointed (which is less likely to happen there due to the store format of it), then decide to save for Banquet and remember that the crystals are always trash every single year, then decide to save for the next heart of fire variant, but decide that is also trash and not worthwhile, then decide to save for J4 and repeat the cycle of saving and disappointment until the end of time.

I do recommend saving for Cyber weekend though as that store is almost always good

My only question is: last year Weapon x in units on July 4 was available on the store at cyber, will torch be the same? I don't want to miss the torch with unit at (4july) for the blind that I couldn't take. Not sure if I have an official answer from Kabam

If you have 39k units spend, 7* human torch is exclusive for a long time

If you don't have 39k units, save for banquet

Can't go wrong with saving units anytime in mcoc, there will always be another spending event in future

I think most of the champs will be available till banquet event either as gacha key reward or in titan crystals or another way, july deals are not for me . Deadpool event was much better than this where you could get 1 exclusive champ or 4 7*r3 for free . I rather save my units then these deals

This was the straw that broke the camel’s back so to say. Once I saw starky in the tier 4 offer, I knew I was going for it. It’s a game, and this is one of my current hobbies. I totally understand people not spending, but I love starky, he’s one of my favorite all time champs. I also went in expecting 4-6 R4s from the event, so when that ended up being true, I wasn’t upset.
