After the heatwave debacle and whatever the WoF was meant to be. Realised I have other priorities in life and went free to play.

Not being F2P already before 2025 is the real crime. Some learn later than others I guess. Be F2P until the game doesn’t allow you to keep up with the spenders (which is inevitable)… and then move on to better, non-p2w games. The only reason i’m still playing is because of the 8 years of effort I put into the game already. I’ll leave at some point soon 🤞🏽

I have always been a F2P. It just doesn’t make sense to me to pay for stuff inside a mobile game which I can get for free a bit later anyway . And the sheer insane amount of money people spend are insane . People are actually spending HUNDREDS of dollars, enough money to get yourself an international vacation with fights and hotel included or a full on game console annd professional games if you are not the real world type and for what ? Freaking units and maybe a champ and some materials? It’s insane . Even if you are rich it’s insane

Who pays for Kabam's staff salaries? Insane isn't the right word to describe spenders who are rich and can afford to spend and support a game they love

Fair point . To some people hundreds or even thousands of dollars are the equivalent of pennies . Still super weird to me . If I was so rich there are so many way more interesting things I would do . To each their own I guess

Haven't you seen news? People spend insane amounts of money in something that has like no value, just for the flex. It seems wierd for us normal people but there are a few (top 1%) who have so much money than you could imagine (more than 50% of total wealth) so they spend it like water. Like spending 100k, 150k dollars in a mobile game, or spending million dollars for a gold chair, or 50 million dollars for a lavish wedding in Venice. Some people just have lot of money to spend.

They probably make more than million dollars per year if they spend like 10k$ a year on this game.

Why do people always take the almighty high ground and say spend it on a vacation, buy something nice, do this do that. As if they know what they do in their private lives?
Are you that simple and dull to think oh they spend in a mobile game, now they won't be able to go on a vacations!!
I don't know where you are from but minimum wage in california gets about 700 bucks a week, so for someone who can afford it a couple hundreds on a hobbie they enjoy doesn't seem like much.
Also someone who can afford to spend hundreds might think its insane and extremely degrading their quality of life to enslave themselves in grinding arenas to enjoy the game like a peasant.

Remember everything's relative.
For example, on my own my annual income puts me at the top 1% of countries like UK, Canada, Italy, the .1% of China and India, but only the top 6% in the US and only top 11% in my city, NYC. I've paid more in taxes this year so far than the avg annual salary in France, S Korea and 5× Brazil. So compared to that, I have greater spending ability. However, I work with 8 figure millionaires and my old boss was worth 3 billion (his boss is #14 on the 2025 list). They could literally buy and sell my a$$. Again, all relative.

One thing is true about the rich, though: money makes money, and you don't stay rich by spending more than you're bringing in. I didn't spend on this offering though I easily could have.

I'm not a fan of micro transaction in fremium gaming industry. Have paid to make a couple mobile games ad free or purchased full apps when needed. Paying for somthing useful is always a good idea, but thats not true for mcoc tho. It's an Account not a game you can own.
In mcoc, I have bought 1 platinum track and the initial offer of 135x5 units. I'll call it a $30 ad free fee. That's all mcoc is getting out of me.

I mean, I can have issues with the way this game is going as far as monetization giving unfair advantages to big spenders in competitive modes.
But aside from that, you should recognize that some people value their time or enjoyment differently than other people. The world doesn’t revolve around your narrow view of what’s “sane.”
If someone has the money, and wants to open crystals, rank up champs, enjoy the game to the fullest, without grinding units 40 hours a week doing boring repetitive arena, that doesn't sound insane to me.
And if you don't want to spend a single dollar on the game, whether out of cheapness or moral principles or whatever, that's cool too.

If you're F2P, that's fine be F2P. But you keep throwing in that you'd rather spend the money on vacations with flights and hotels as something better to spend money on, and that's ok too.

But you've mentioned on another post before about saving money for these vacations and hotel stays for a week, etc, when one of the spending events costed $400. You even said you'd even have money left over.

You keep bringing this up, so please tell me where you can fly to internationally, stay at a hotel for a week, and go on a spending spree for only $400, and still have money left over at the end of the trip. The average international trip costs thousands of dollars.

I've asked before, but you never responded. Now seems like a good time to ask again since you brought it up again.

Right! Years ago, a cheeto that supposedly looked like Harambe (the gorilla that was killed at the zoo) that somebody found in a bag of Cheetos, sold for thousands-millions online. Same for a piece of bread or a sandwhich that a celebrity took a bite out of then threw away. There are people out here that have tons of money that we don't have to blow on things, and could never imagine spending so much on. Lol let them do it.
