You cannot only reclaim one mastery point, it does it for a whole category (offense, defense, or proficiency?)

i tried using the thing level 60 gives u good for one free mastery point recovery, it states

Even with the mastery point recovery, you still recover all your masteries in one section. Either contact support or buy your way out of the negative units problem. Or I guess you could leave your masteries off, but that’s a terrible idea.

If he didn't have negative credits or negative units he would be able to apply his masteries again. He wouldn't have negative credits if he didn't refund a purchase.
The only reasonable and right route is to pay back whatever he refunded and play the game as it is meant to be played.

Okay, but what about the fact that Kabam mislabeled their item? That can happen to anyone. And just to clarify, I’m in debt because of purchases that I didn’t agree to. I’ve always been and still am free-to-play, which is why I requested a refund. I was also fine playing with negative units since it never really affected my gameplay, but now this situation does.

Also if you don't use the items there is a high chance you get your refund back from Kabam. All he needed to do is open a ticket.

That is because the summoner still got to keep the items but also got their money back if they don't request the refund directly thru Kabam

Don't know why you're defending him, but if he'd gone thru the proper channels he wouldn't have the negative units and he would be able to reset his masteries. Only thing that will fix the situation now is money

Back in the day, there were these things called MASTERY POINT RECOVERY tokens, that were actually meaningful. (and, yes, that Recovery you get at Level 60 is “back in the day” rewards, has been there for a veryyyy long time).
*unlike the new Point you get at Level 65 now.

You could ONLY perform a reset of masteries by using that Mastery Point Recovery token.
*still had to build them back up again afterwards, which would still cost some resources for each mastery levels of nodes.

I think you got an initial allotment, but then had to buy extra if you wanted to reset masteries more times.

And, NO, it was NOT for just reclaiming a single Point out of a single Node. It was for resetting the whole branch (either Offensive, Defensive, or Utilities) back to zero.

That's what it was for back then, and that is still what it's for now (although you can do a Reset back to zero in any branch for Free whenever you want nowadays, without needing this old token, that you still get if you are newer upon reaching Level 60).

Should they go ahead and remove the token from the Summoner Level rewards now that they are not needed ? Probably.
