..this node and the AI seems to be a bit wild. Who are y'all using to counter Nova here? I can't get an intercept in at all witout the AI immediately countering. It's like it knows you have to intercept to remove it's protection, and is waiting and ready for when you do.

I used Shathra. Watch for the annoying falter node. Goal is to be aggressive and get him to sp1 as quick as possible. Make sure you’re not faltered and punish the special. That gets you the unblockable as a coda champ, then you just want to keep up the rhythm. Once you have the unblockable, it’s easier to intercept him and get rid of the protection.

Keep pushing him to sp1, keep punishing, just throw a lot of sp1s to keep refreshing your atrophy.

I've been using Serpent Sp1 spam into block. Works OK. His AI as a defender is always annoying.

I've haven't had issues with Nova until this a-hole node man 😭. I tried Serpent but died. The node reduces his true sense. Intercepting was hell.

I had a fairly good time with Onslaught in both of my runs. He doesn’t care about the Falter and the Purify from Ebb and flow is actually a good thing for him. Just gotta watch for intercept openings and the Genesis Unblockable. Nova’s the first fight anyways, so if you get a run with bad AI you can just restart with little loss.

The main annoyance for me was the Falter since it would rear its head at the worst moment. The AI seems to know when the falter timer is almost there and not let you intercept until you're faltered. If you have a Miss counter, everything is much easier.

I used Vox. Took me several attempts to get Nova to not clip me with random attacks, but essentially 2.5 bars > SP2 > SP1. Then I just built back up to 2 bars. Intercepting wasn't necessary since I was doing decent damage even with protection. Towards the end, intercept and then SP2 to degen him down for the KO.

Ok cool. Will try that. The falter is annoying af. And of course the defender will wait until the falter is about to trigger before it throws it's special.

    Unblockable with falter. 🥴 Perfect.

I used Sinister for both of my solos. About half the time, I just ignored the ebb and flow node and just did lesser damage.

Onslaught both times, he's great for Elsa, Prowler and (If you get fairly lucky with rng) Korg.

    Onslaught or Juggs

    I used Kushala both times.

Spiral destroys. His AI is super hesitant to let you intercept him though

Wiccan nuke him out. In no time. One of his spells allows you to block unblockable attacks against cosmic champs, so no need to worry bout coda. If you have problems with miss bring hulkling Wiccan won't miss with hulkling synergy when you have a neutralize active.

I used herc for him and korg.

I used onslaught fir this as well as for Elsa and prawler.

For nova i had to do a few restarts to get the perfect run. You have to heavy punish his sp1s and land intercept just once before doing sp2 and he goes down. No more intercepts needed

It is stupidly hard and not in the least bit fun.

May Prowdler work? He counters falter?

I used rintrah. Very tanky. Just have to be mindful of falter. It does appear at the worst moment.

I used Spiral, but my god his AI sucked.

I reset so many times, cause this AI decided to throw specials just at the right time for me to get faltered while trying to punish 🤣

Man that nova can even land special intercepts while you're dashing lol 🤣

Meh, don't get me started on how many times he did a back draft intercept on me lol

I used prowler for one of the runs, worked good and no worries about falter

you still have to intercept him, but serpent's true sense turns off the falter. i cleared both lanes itemless using serpent sp1 spam on nova.

How'd you use Sinister on this Nova? I tried but because it passively stuns, they couldn't be paused by heavy. I'm curious if there is even more to him that I don't know. I did bring him for most of the other defenders on both paths and he destroys.

Also for my answer, Doom! Once you get the cycle going you're good. It takes a bit but if you can get an intercept before launching the first SP3 then it's not so bad.

Build to sp2. That stun won't be passive. Pause that stun. Here's a video. I missed the first sp2 stun, so I just had to do it again. The video may still be loading. I had Kingpin synergy as well, but the idea is the same without it. @Frumpy_geezer

Ahh yes, the sp2 stun. I kept getting frustrated because I would bring him in and in 5 seconds was eating a full combo meal deal.

    Thanks!
