The line between whale and pay to win is blurry

Hi guys,

Anyone feeling left behind in BGs due to big accounts? I am consistently running into accounts with quite a few rank 4s. I still do fine against those accounts, for the most part. But more often than not, the rank 4 is the difference between a win or a loss. It's just not that I am running into these accounts, it's that I am seeing so many. I eventually lose interest, and just stop playing. When BGs came out, I thought this would be the saving grace of MCOC. Now I am starting to think it is doing more bad then good. Now we have so many difficult defenders, and I am pretty sure it is due to BGs.

Part of me is good with it. The company needs big spenders. But man, the difference is a chasm. Seeing 2-4 rank 4s looks correct. But 7+, and all the rest rank 3 is....... exhausting. Probably not going to get the radiance for reaching gladiator.

I have read a few threads about BGs and matchmaking. It's not matchmaking that is the issue. It's the widening gap between the whales and the rest of us.

There's a reason why the Summoner Showdown didn't have players use their own account. People can call it "competitive" all they want but it's clear they haven't actually played a competitive game before.

But how else would they get you to spend if not to catch up on whales? FOMO is the entire business model.

I just go as far as I am allowed to, which means that Victory track is only doable after all the whales get to GC.
