Doubt about joining Raids

I am currently in an Alliance. I decided to join another alliance and exit this afyer the Raids rewards come in.
But I got some word that, If I want to join the Raids and get the rewards, I should be in the Alliance before the Raid Week starts.
Is that so? Can I leave my existing alliance after the Raid Rewards and after the Raid starts, and still be able to participate in the New Alliance Raids and get that rewards?

    For raids specifically, you need to be in an alliance 24 hours prior to the start of the map. If you want to move alliances, you will sacrifice at least one week of raid rewards in one direction or the other, or both of you really do it wrong.

    Are you sure the 24 hour rule is true? I think you can join raids as long as you were in the ally before that week of aq/raids begins.
