Why does update day ≠ content day any more?

TP33TP33 Member Posts: 1,781 ★★★★★
What do we get on update day? Buffs and EQ, we didn’t even get a side quest this time.

But a weeks time we get the rebirth event, act 8 crucible and BGs all starting on the same day?

Last month had a similar deal where content was offset by a couple weeks, i mean sales and stuff usually start whenever independent of update schedule, but one of either Rebirth or Act 8 Crucible should really have dropped this Wednesday.

I just feel like not only does it PACK one week full of content but it also makes updates feel, well, unimportant.

Update day used to mean something, everyone would play together and you’d be watching a YouTube stream, talking with friends, i mean I remember coming back from school and I would go over to a friends house on update day to play the new events and stuff.

Now with everything going on in the game “update day” just means EQ and (not even all the time) some lacklustre side quest (which is impossible to grind out in one day these days so thanks for that too kabam)

Oh well, I guess like most complaints kabam aren’t gonna do anything about this one, and will continue to release whatever they want whenever they want, I mean look at poker huh, what a nightmare event that was

Side quest comes out next week with the rebirth and act 8 crucible the side quest is going to be mini act 8 crucible where you fight them as 3*s with your 2*s so it wouldn't make sense to release it week before act 8 crucible look at it this way it gives you a week to get done with the event quest stuff so you can focus on all the other stuff when it releases

It’s the same reason why Act content always drops 2 weeks after the EQ update - it’s staggered so you have time to complete EQ then you can focus on Act content.

This is, of course, catered towards engagement and endgame players who speed run everything the first week. That way, they have something to do later in the month

Agree with this, lack of mysterium is a bummer but a full week of only EQ is good too. We can focus on finishing both the Gauntlets before the SQ starts.

The excuse is that it gives people more time to complete other content first. The actual reason is it creates artificial engagement making it look like players are active all month long.

What are you even talking about? We got the new event quests, para & val gauntlets and the solo raid.

I am glad there are bugs, how we gonna get free compensation otherwise?

Paragon and Valiant EQ can all be done in a couple of hours. The solo raids event is literally useless for anyone that has played one raid already. The regular EQ has outdated rewards and not worth doing.

We literally only got two pieces of content and one of them can be done in 15 minutes.

Right... we got new content. OP is complaining we don't get new content when we get new content. Doesn't matter if you don't like it. Kabam said the SQs are offset by a week for a while while they try stuff out. It's a game. Chill out

It does seem weird to stagger content like this. Last week we had BG season, War season, Raids, FF recruitment side quest still running - this week after the update all we have is EQ, solo raids (which is basically a daily quest), along with regular ol’ AQ. Not even incursions is active. Then next week there’s the rebirth event with milestones, an arena, there’s endgame crucible, side quest mini crucible, and the start of a new BG season all at once - plus now the relic event

I appreciate the staggering of events and things to do. It already feels like you have to do all the things if you want to keep your champs up-to-date to play the game. Dropping it all at once makes for a sh*t top of stress players don't need.

    Real reason:-
Kabam is incapable of releasing everything at once without game breaking bugs.

Three paths left and I have encountered weird behavior, and that’s par for the course with the MCoC AI the last year. Also adjusting to Solvarch hit box feeling off, especially on intercepts against Cassandra.

    I don’t think there’s a fix incoming. Ever.

I’m not saying staggering is bad, I’m saying the way they’re staggering it is weird. Is it really staggering if they drop two relatively small things this week and then 5-6 things next week?

Cassandra is a dramatic return to “I’m pretty sure I won that intercept, yet now I’m getting punched in the face.”

Sometimes I just wish we were playing games on cartridges again and not having to deal with this.
