AI throwing S3 while stunned!!

Just fighting Ikarus with HT, used HTs S2 which stunned Ikarus as it should.
I went into attack him while he was stunned knowing it would push him to S3 but also knowing my attack would KO him but mid combo he came out of stun early and hit me with his S3

There are plenty of nodes in quests and war that could explain that.

He could've had a stun immune node activating or some node decreasing stun time

Hard to say what happened without a video. One solution that hasn’t been mentioned yet is if you slowed down your combo too much, he much have had a chance to throw an attack while you were doing your next input.

He was stunned, I could have stood there doing nothing.
He shouldn't be able to do specials while stunned.
No nodes to reduce or stop stun

I don't think you are the only one to encounter this issue. I've had defenders activate their SP3 with only 2.5 bars of power.
Playing A.Q. map 8 this week, the mini-boss was Warlock, who managed to hit me with 2x5 hit combos so fast that I could not even react to the second combo.
