Just upgraded this cutie. Even as 6* is looking fun.
Looking forward to enjoy using him.
Still figuring out what he can and cannot do yet. Some people seem to enjoy him.

Havent seen much of a serious discussion on him.
Imo he definitly qualify as a fun rankup.
What are your findings of this new eidol?

Idk why we didn't have a serious thread until now but I'm glad someone finally decided to make one! As for my personal opinion, I firmly believe that he sucks! He is consistently slow unless suffering from constant energy damage like a neuroshock passive from Onslaught, then he becomes quite fast but that's about it. For battlegrounds he is just not worth it, everest content like Necropolis is far beyond his reach. May work in AW, I'm not sure.

His problem for general matchups is that you need to go for the sp3 rotation pretty much. The issue is that he doesn't deal any damage until that point and guess what happens when you're finally ramped? You throw that sp3, deal around probably 300k damage at r3-r4 and lose all the ramp just to start over! Adding up the basic hits which are non-crits, you deal a total of 400k damage per minute where most of that damage comes from the sp3 at the end of your ramp. You're basically tickling for a minute, deal some huge burst and start again from scratch. This loop just doesn't work and is not satisfactory at all most of the time especially in short fights that are beyond the reach of this rotation.

Another thing is that his target matchups are so limited that I'd genuinely find more use for my ascended Immortal Iron Fist overall. Solvarch ramps up faster against mutants and energy damage which is cool but he doesn't counter the mutant class that well.

1)Nothing to counter ability accuracy reduction so his abilities can fail against Domino, at least he heals some of the crit fail damage back and can counter her evade with coldsnap.

2)Not a robot and combined with 1 he doesn't have anything special against Sinister, he doesn't crit and that's all.

3)Not sure if Solvarch has a line in his kit that makes him work around it but he doesn't have an armor up "buff" so he will take plasma detonation damage from Havok.

4)If Gentle gets to throw his sp2 he is so cooked.

5)Even against Iceman who is a mutant that deals constant energy damage for the first 12 seconds of the fight, Nick136 lost 10% hp in his showcase video at same ranks. He was fast but still lost a considerable amount of hp.

All these points aside he nukes Onslaught, Jean Grey and Captain Britain which definitely has some value in its own. Just unfortunate that his target matchups don't even cover the majority of top mutant defenders.

To conclude my thoughts, I find him super situational and matchup/node reliant. I think his design is way too forced just to implement the fractured power bar mechanic in a unique way. Don't think his utility is that practical either, seems like a bunch of generic tech abilities thrown at random parts of his kit. Other than a handful of defenders he is straight up terrible for short, time based fights; he can't do long fights at all. I'm honestly struggling to find a purpose for him, maybe he can at least be of use in AW since that's his only hope left. There are a lot more flaws in his design I didn't even get to mention that I'd rather stop here.

My decision is final. He is mid.

He seem to be doing exactly as advertised from what I observed.

These stats shouts mid.
He is a survivor. Bunch of armor crit resistant and couple immunities.
Using energy based attacker on him and failing a single dex during a special will cost.
I won't trust someone who is saying solvarch is supposed to be THE OP nuke meta attacker.

Doing quiet decent vs quiet a few mutants and energy matchups. And that's where his reign ends.

One sp3 cycle kills, but he doesnt have any damage to finish of the remaining heath on the defender. If sp3 doesnt kill, going for another takes extra time. There's sp2 rotation looks better vs mutants.

A lot slower vs others, for a being a 6*, which is fine. Got a hard learning curve. Got him for free just playing the game though.

A single 1 minute sp2 sp1 sp3 cycle took 60% of storm in ROL. That's about 300k health. Not bad for a defender.
A 7r4 will definfilty be relevant in BGs (niche on attack). 6* is not tho.
He gets the title of fun rankup.

I'll take the upcoming Ursula and will upgrade her.
Some of us can do random rankups out of the blue and won't worry one bit. Don't be like us.

Not sure about the defender potential tbh, he has passive armor ups but they get removed by armor break still. Might be tricky for a while with his specials and the healing off of energy damage but common nukes like Medusa, Scream and Thanos should have no problems I think. We'll see about it I guess, its even harder to judge a champions defensive capabilities compared to his offensive strength.

Also I'm kinda used to the off-topics at this point as I deserve them most of the time but idk why this weirdo is camping in the thread waiting for a new comment to react to. I'm literally on-topic for once in my entire life, I even discussed Solvarch on a Solvarch discussion thread. Literally every comment here is getting off-topic'd in an instant, idk whats wrong with the guy and I probably shouldn't have acknowledged him honestly. It can't be Tairique's ghost either, he would have loved to discuss Solvarch with us just as anyone here would. Man, I just miss him sometimes...

He is niche as a defender too. A bit tanky and energy damage will charge him. So have to save one non energy attacker.
And it's good he is not a big problem. The defenders are raining these days, sometimes it's nice to get a break.

Off topic is the new normal. I'd like to hit 1k so it's great.

Great catch, at similar ranks he can actually do the fights under a minute. 50k score is still pretty remarkable for a champ declared as mid.

Now that Tairique finally has bars on his profile we can actually have a serious discussion about this lol.

I like him personally, and I'm in the process of taking him to r4 soon. On the previous thread which got closed I saw a lot of people mentioning how his only use is mutants with energy damage (mind you that includes Capt. Britain, Domino, Onslaught, Havok, Iceman, Dust, Jean, Sinister, Cassandra and Dazzler which is basically 90% of all mutant defenders/dual threats) because in every other matchup he's kinda slow therefore he's mid. This is an argument I don't really agree with, I would if those where the only matchups he can take but in BGs he can also handle others like Zola, Bullseye, Enchantress, Shuri, Prowler although at a much slower pace due to having to use different rotations and strategies.
Now, I agree that for these last few matchups I mentioned he's not faster or better than their actual counters however BGs is a game mode where draft can easily completely screw you over and for that reason alone, I think there is some value there, he's a safety net in case you get terrible luck.
I would agree that he's mid if he didn't basically nuke most current mutant meta defenders in 30-40 secs but he does, and he does the rest of the matchups I explained so that to me is enough to make him decent. Nothing crazy, probably not even a top 5 tech, but decent enough to where I actually want to r4 him and have him in my deck.
To add to all this, he's also a solid defender, nothing too crazy but without a decent counter it's a guaranteed timeout essentially.
The only real downside that bothers me is that the sp3 can't nuke if he's punching a rank above, that rotation is only a guaranteed ko in same rank fights.

So yeah overall not op, not top a top champ either, but definitely not mid, imo he's decent. We'll see when I do all the testing this upcoming season but I really don't see him being extremely meta dependant or too slow to allow him to shine even in higher leagues in GC where time matters a bit more.

He's a specialist champion for sure, but u think he's only going to continue becoming more and more useful. Energy damage is basically his key to popping off and it's not like energy damage is an uncommon thing in new matches, he's not going to be someone that is a profession rank up but i think he's flexible enough that bringing him in as an option for bgs is a safe choice.

Do wish they would give him some innate armour penetration but I'm waiting to see what a stat cast does for him before making the call completely

BMcG is well known for taking up and making use of extremely Niche champs, he is great at flogging a dead horse that's for sure, But I think he's a great content creator don't get me wrong, I enjoy his videos..
My experience with solvarch, I took him to R3 and awakened him.. I do regret it, it was an impulse rank up and tech gem use, the promotional vids on him were a tad misleading and got me excited for him, however it's on me for jumping the gun...
I will find use for him, and he is fun, and I will use him in crucible 2 later.. oh, and you can easily trap someone in bgs if they've only got energy attackers left..
Overall, he's fun, pretty clunky and slow.. maybe just double his charge gain all around and I think that would make a world of difference, or maybe lose less when in his orange mode. Or have his reverb stay at 300% until charges fall off instead of having the reverb scale with his charges.
And please for the love of God don't have us wait the whole gestation period of an actual real life human to make changes...

Me neither, but I'm collecting all eidols. If we need one of them in some random scenario for some random content, not for bgs tho. Don't have 6*s in deck atm.

The rotation is rigid and with a ceiling. In act content 6* will need 2-3 rotations. Not much of a help really. Utility might come handy 'someday'.
Im sacrificing 7500 basic 7* shards just to get a 6* version of a newly launched paywalled 7*. Its just a choice, nothing extraordinary tbh.

Odd considering your the one behind bars. You'd think if everyone else was the problem, wed be behind bars. But we aren't. You want to know how you get put behind bars? Because you didn't follow the forum rules. Its quite simple really. But go on. Keep it up. Continuing to act this way even behind bars only causes them to watch you even more and permanently ban you from the forums. Good riddance though.
