Is anybody happy with this change?
This actually works out better for me.. Has never ranked specifically high prestige champs like surfer and idoom but have alot of rankups with highish prestige. That said this will cause some prestige allainces to crumble as people will quit over this.

Horrible decision. Before it was ok to stomach a rank for prestige cuz it was only 5 then you can rank for fun. Now I'll have to rank 15+ champs that I won't want and a bunch of new champs will push them out. I focused on prestige and spent accordingly. After this change I'm done spending.
Is there any alliance that will mandate 15 rankups? I hope not... There are plenty that won't.
Top prestige rankings were pretty much tied as everyone has the same few champs at sig 200..this will seperate them again.
you can't be serious with this change
I know you are tired of "do you even play your own game?" question but come on Kabam, really?
I am really curious to know how you think it could be a good idea.
i'm sooooo happy i retired, this is perfect timing. i loved the game and did competitive AQ and AW for 6+ years and was a moderate dolphin (less recently).
this change now means you're whaling on the odin relics too during july 4 and cyber. if you clear the store that's almost $2000 depending on where you live lol
the game was becoming exhausting and this would have been the final nail if i was still playing. i don't know what this does to the more casual spenders in the competitive tiers but i'm guessing it's bad.
The worst part is to compete on a prestige level its now gone from focusing on 5 champions with the odd one being added to chase to now 30 where you can guarantee Kabam being the money grabbers they are will introduce one of, if not both, monthly champions into the top 30 prestige champs. Or even better, revamped champs like the ones just released you'll need 3 them at max prestige!
This is nothing but a money grabbing scheme, it was a great idea for questing being higher prestige across 30 champs but AQ is ridiculous!
When are you retiring from the forum tho?
I'd definately like to know more about how the prestige is used. if it is like today, and a few points make a huge difference because its rank based, then that would say some behaviors (especially depending how easy it is to track, and what the jumps in rewards are like), but if getting 2 more prestige points means you will only earn 1 more shard… then that means something totally different.
Never cared about prestige. Just care about BG.
If people want to use their resources to rank up champs for prestige, that's cool with me.
I'll continue to focus on ranking up champs I like.
i'll hang around for a bit 🍿
I guess now they are going to see if they can make the whales stop spending too. Huge anti-player move by attempting to deeply unbalance the PI race to pressure us into spending. We must be getting closer to EOS if we are getting this extremely desperate for a cash grab. You know, I've been waffling just a little on spending every so often recently, and this is great because now I feel very good and like I'm making the right decision by sticking to being F2P in perpetuity now. If you don't like what they are doing with this and by removing a convenient unit farm for F2P's in the form of lower level difficulty EQ every month (let's hope being called out on this one by KT and others encourages them to at least ensure they aren't further strangling the free unit economy in this game), then don't spend. At the end of the day, Kabam is a company and money is what they (or at least NetMarble) care about, and while I do feel there are still people internal to the company that do still very much love and care about this game, I feel their voice gets drowned out by whatever ungodly force is driving these anti-player moves in tandem with an increasingly aggressive set of monetization practices that usually don't get this intense unless someone's company is in some form of financial trouble, otherwise why knowingly antagonize the player base so massively in a way that will be perceived as extremely greedy and anti-player on a Friday hoping the 72-hour rule will make the blowback less when business hours resume come Monday?
there will be, there will be ones that push 30
It's also hilarious that they can't release a prestige list for champs and relics. Gotta use third parties to figure it out like they don't have the information readily available. This game has finally jumped the shark!
