Rebirth Crystal Claim Timer

Is the Rebirth Crystal timer broken or am I just not understanding what "every 7 hours" means?

According to all the official notes, the crystal is claimable "every 7 hours." I claimed 2 so far, and after I claim the crystal, the timer says I have 7 hours from the time I claimed the crystal. It's not every 7 hours.

7-Hour Login Crystal
Every 7-Hours a Login Crystal will be claimable
Two rewards per Crystal – one that is Champions or Rank-Up materials, the other will be a consumable, such as a potion or revive

Other timed crystals work on a "global" timer, where if I claim the crystal 5 minutes before the refresh I can claim the next crystal five minutes later. Is this not the case with this one?

It is how the others used to work when they were still a thing. It's always how the others worked. Crystals on cooldown timers don't start a new timer until the crystal is claimed. That's how daily crystals and 4h crystals both worked forever and how every iteration of these 7h crystals has always worked. This isn't new.

Alliance crystal… the 24hr timer doesn't reset when you claim it.

Wth is an alliance crystal?

Hard to show you, since time claimable crystals are gone, I got no idea what that Alliance crystal is. I haven't seen one of those in like 5 years.
