To The Developers at Kabam,
I began playing MCOC since January of 2015, and since that time I have invested hundreds of hours into your game. In 2020 I returned to a work schedule that forced me to retire, but in June of this year I returned and picked the game up right where I left. I quickly rose from 12k prestige to 32.4k in the last 3 months. I am now playing with a Plat 3 alliance, while previously playing in a Master/Top 20 before my retirement. All that to say I am very experienced with every facet of this game.
The changes you have made to prestige in the last 24 hours is by far the single worst mistake you have ever made as a company.
You might be tempted to scoff or assume that I am being overly reactive to the change. I assure I am not. The fact that my prestige is down 10k was inconsequential until 20 minutes ago when I logged in and saw that I am now unable to earn the same rewards as someone who has the same prestige that I had less than 24 hours ago. Prestige is not an easy thing to change, it takes weeks or even months to see a significant raise, and now these changes directly benefit all of the players who either

Have played near daily since release, and even those players better not be F2P.
I have just checked the rewards tab in the adaptive eq difficulty, and the loss to players all across the board is shocking and frankly extremely poor game design. What makes sense to you as game designers does not necessarily mean that it will land with your community.
What you have done with this change is tell the community that you value the whales far more than anyone else in the game, and you have gated progression behind a massive paywall to prove it.
This change has made me rethink wanting to invest any further time in playing this game, and has made me regret coming back.
I spent 25 years of my working in IT on the legal side and over those years I learned how to properly roll out changes like this. You beta test it, you ask for feedback, you inquire from your core audience their thoughts and input, but what you DONT do is release a change that guts player progression while saying “but you still get the same base rewards”.
In 10 years I have never once posted in this forum. Because even when you made changes I didn’t particularly like I just went with it, because for the most part, the game was on a fairly even playing field. What you’ve done today is the single worst mistake you’ve ever made as a company, and I promise you, you’ll be hearing about how much so many of us hate this until you change it or find a way to even the playing field.
