Event Quest Difficulty

Quick question — is there a way to lower quest difficulty? I usually just let it auto-play while I’m at work, but I can’t really get the rewards that way. I haven’t been playing much lately, and even as a Thrown Breaker I feel like I’m missing something obvious here. Any tips would help a lot!
