Ok so there is an issue with the
‘’Uncollected Golden Crystal’’ – Guaranteed gold…

What is your experience?

So it seems that the ‘’RNG’’ if any favours bulk opening as opposed to single opening

I opened 50 crystals and got some interesting results….

For a form of randomness I opened as follows
1-10 – individually
11-20 – bulk
21-30 – individually
Last 20 bulk.

When opened individually there seemed to be a pattern emerging (albeit the dataset is too small to draw anyfirm conclusions…. I do wonder if it would repeat with minor variance on much larger scale. In that when opened individually you not only receive less, but you receive between 6/7 @ 21451 and 3 @ 32751
1-10 – 307460
11-20 – 564870
21-30 – 107253
Last 20 bulk. 1051090 + 1322800

I am very interested to know if any other mcoc nerds like me like to analyse this stuff, and have opened more than 50 crystals in one swoop?

Interesting that the only difference is the anomaly score of 71501

I haven't opened uncollected gold crystals since Crystal Cleanse. However, I have never seen any pattern to gold crystal openings, and in fact even if such a pattern somehow existed no player would likely ever see it, because consecutive gold crystal openings on the part of the player are not consecutive crystal openings to the server. Thousands of crystals are constantly being opened every minute. Lots of crystals have been opened in between any two consecutive crystal openings by an individual player. If there was some sort of pattern, you'd have to gather all the crystals that were opened during that period of time from all players opening crystals to see it.

Because of the way crystals work, there's no difference between opening in bulk and opening individually, because when you open in bulk the servers literally open those crystals individually anyway. Each crystal is rolled independently. That's why bulk openings generally take longer: the server is doing identical work to open ten crystals for you as it would if you opened them one at a time.

While I haven't opened UC gold crystals in a while, there's no reason to believe they are any less random than arena crystals, and I have opened a large number of those one at a time, and continue to do so. As far as I can tell, there's no obvious pattern to those crystals, or any other crystals I've tested.

As to the specific results, the 70k drop isn't an "anomaly" UC gold crystals can drop a number of different values, each with a different drop probability. The larger ones are rarer. That rarity makes it tricky to test gold crystals in small batches. If you don't open enough to smooth out those odds, you will get large random fluctuations in the results.

Totally get your viewpoints and understand how the server mechanics work, but ive always found what should happen and what does happen are two different things.

From the gold that I opened, barely 1200000 actually hit my account leaving near 2000000 lost in the ether…. ive raised a separate post for the missing gold though i am not hopeful it will ever appear….

Also the reason for me digging deep into the gold, is that ive noticed previously that the amounts received were less than what I should have got and I was directed here by steam mods to raise my case.

That being said I do love looking at datasets like these and contemplating possibility vs probability vs actuality
