Striker with Eidol not Activating

I used Isophyne in a quest and have a relic equipped. Whenever the relic gauge fills and I use it at the end of a combo like every other champ the striker doesn’t activate. I just get slapped in the face by the defender for standing there. I’m guessing it has something to do with different touch zones because of the fractured special bar with eidols. It sucks for whatever the reason is to be in the middle of a quest and have a design feature just not work at all. Took 3 deaths and revives to figure out it wasn’t me just missing the button.

I also had the same problem with Lumatrix in EQ where I kept trying to use my striker and I would get slapped in the face and get KO’d
