Did they buff scourge nodes?

I'm a returning player who's trying to explore act 9.2 and I was hit with the 9.2.3 degen path which is just ridiculous unless you have a good science roster with degen resist.

I checked some guides and in all of them, the scourge charges can be eradicated regardless of how many charges the defender has.

But to me, it shows as if that I need atleast 10 charges to do it with which is ridiculous because the degen damages me way too much before reaching that far.

So did they buff the nodes? If so, why? Was it not hard already?...
