Black screen on launch through steam

so im relatively new to MCoC and added it on my steam account. However, whenever i launch the game through steam i recieve a black screen that leads into a unresponsive crash. this happens every time without fail when launching through steam but does not when launching the executable.
so far to fix it i have tried:
reinstalling the game
verifying file integraty
checking for corrupted files
running as adimistrator

but nothing has worked

it has become a real issue as if i want to buy anything on the in game store it crashes the game and tries to relaunch through steam
