7* Basic Champion Nexus Crystal question

This is probably my second 7* champion nexus crystal out of Valiant Crystals.. ratio is bleak and pretty depressing.. but today is a great day

6* Yelena Belova + 7* champion nexus + 5* Guardian

Spider-ham / Spot / Photon

Spider-ham is rank2 and Photon is rank1.. but i pick Photon..

Did I make a bad pick?
