Is the SW nerf now mis selling?

Just to add to the controversy of this decision, wouldn't this nerf leave Kabam open to accusations of mis advertisements and mis selling?

Their own deep dive showed their product performing an action that will not be possible after the nerf, ie. Countering Bullseyes evade. He is a champion that a lot of people struggle against and the fact that she was sold as an option would surely leave Kabam up for mass refund right? Anyone who bought her pre-release bundle should get their money back as she is now not able to perform a match up that was specifically advertised.

Not my area of expertise so if im wrong feel free to correct me, otherwise looks like I'll be requesting a £100 refund

No. She was/is currently as she was advertised in the deep dive, and even once the changes happen the deep dive was produced under the proviso that she could be rebalanced. The change sucks and was badly communicated but it's not illegal no matter how much people want to believe that it is.

By this logic every single deep dive ofba champion that has been buffed is false advertising, as is every ccp video featuring them at their original state which just isnt how false advertisement works.

Apple is being sued for advertising AI features for last year’s iPhones that have not been implemented, with the idea the customers bought last year iPhone (Spiderwoman here) for the advertised promise of AI features (Ensnare here), even though Apple did say at the time feature not present at launch (the Rebalance window here).

Will have to see if the lawsuit progresses and finds merit with the judge (Apple is an easy target even if the claims are minor), but in a nutshell there is grounds for legal complaints even if Apple uses the cover of AI features TBD.

Your other “logic” doesn’t entirely work. CCP videos are not produced by Kabam employees (although the recent codes to pay the CCP of your choice makes that gray area), so it’s a personal opinion rather than Kabam’s official statement. Some guy citing that drinking bleach cures viruses is not the official stance of the company.

On the Deep Dive front you're using an extreme example to proof your point. But in this case, people who used the Spiderwoman Deep Dive to pay money, can complain. People who didn't pay money for Spiderwoman prior to the "Nerf" announcement, can't really complain as the ensnare advertisement didn't turn them into a consumer.

So yes, people who paid for Rhino in the past, can complain about the Rhino buff being false advertisement. It just wouldn't get much traction.

To be honest @RoyalRose1510 I've been spending a few thousand on this game every year and kabam can go f*ck themselves if they think im spending more money and supporting their choices

Every choice they make is against the player, not nerfing defenders but instead nerfing attackers, strikers where they count as being close when you take damage but not when you dish out damage, they build things rock stacks but don't remove korgs. Everything they do is to make the players experience worse and spending money just supports this.

This month has been a sh*t show from start to finish, both from Kabams terrible choices and the general state of the game and there is clearly no true intent to change for the better or reflect on their mistakes

Crashed has helped in the downward spiral, the forum moderators don't care enough to be proactive or don't think enough for themselves to tell us how they actually and have some sort influence on Kabams sh*tty choices. Karate Miike was and is one of the top players in the game there's no way he supports all these choices, but he eorhwr doesnt stand up for his beliefs or (more likely) the decision makers ignore him, they have an entire CCP who are now making money directly off the game and even their opinion isn't important according to Kabam

I really hope things change but after 10 years I know it won't

I see everyone saying this garbage. "She was produced under the proviso that she could be rebalanced". Sorry but that's such a BS scam of an argument from you and from Kabam. Please show me where in the deep dive video this is clearly stated. Please show me where on the deep dive info page this is stated. Please show me where this is stated on her pre-release bundles or valiant crystals. Please show me ANYWHERE in the actual game ffs that states the rules of the rebalancing program. Unless you are a forum rat like us, you would have no idea about the rebalancing program at all. I guarantee there are 1000s of people that spent money on acquiring her or rank up / awakening materials for her and have no idea about the horribly advertised rebalancing program.

I don't know anything about this just taking it from a consumer perspective.

So example of Spider Woman - Advertised that she can do certain thing, counter certain champs in her Deepdive, Kabam is now planning to change this, remove a key part of the champion.

Imo this would consider to be a mis-advertising

E.g, if I pay Disney Plus to get access to a full film only give half of a film to stream, then I expect to get my money back.

In regarding to "buff" champs, in my opinion it is a case of the product not meet to advertised level and need to change to achieve that level.

Again like renting a movie at 1080 and only given 720, so change is need to be made to get to 1080.

So, one is when change were to make it reduce the quality of the product to less than what it was meant to sold as.

And, one is change is need to be made to meet the quality it meant to sold for.
