My two sense on the “comp for the comp”
So, I’ve seen comments all across the board about this and just wanted to put my take on it with a few points. I’ve seen as little as two packages for the most part, a good number of three packages, and then all the way up to 15 and 17 packages. Of course you’ll see those comments like “oh it’s not gamebreaking” or “I’m never mad that someone else got something I didn’t”, but to be honest, given the scale of these comps…it could potentially be account changing. Here’s a small list of points I’m confused about:
1. Slightly off topic, but why in the dev diary does it mention this is a comp for just September? We’ve been having issues since exactly July 24th
2. For perspective, 3 of these packages (recieved by quite a few) would give 3 7 star relics, 3 titan nexus, tons of store credits (potentially multiple loyalty 7 stars and 7 star basics and/or more), AND not to mention the rank up materials
3. For players who spent in the stat cast relic event to get a SINGULAR 7 star relic in an alliance based event, 3 is crazy
4. At the end of the day, it’s just not fair to have somebody roaming around with 3-17 packages. The playing field should be level…then allowing players to spend.
5. Example of how this could be account changing: I’ve got bastion and Karolina at r3 and in my BGs deck, but they’re unduped. Persay I dupe them in the two titan nexus additionally, I just gained much more utility out of them and now I’m already winning 15% more of my BGs matches just with those two dupes. Not even including the rest of the package (which if there were 3 or more, that’s dang near a new r4…or two…or three depending on the # of packages)
So, how to fix it? In my opinion, give everyone who only received one package 2 more and call it a day. That will appease the player base and level the playing field enough at least. For anyone who got 5+ or even 15+…a clawback may need to be put in place as that’s put up against thousands of dollars of value from a spending player. At the end of the day it’s not about “they got this and I didn’t”, it’s about fairness, especially since all players are competing against each other
