I constantly see people talking about how they are cancelling their sigil which has terrible value. Kabam would make bank selling a $10 battle pass. Everything in this game is so expensive for no reason.
Agree. It's wild how they don't understand that they'd make more money if they priced things more appropriately. I understand making super rare things expensive, but the only people that would spend $100 on a 7* nexus, don't even care about 7* basics anymore. That daily card offer was worth, maybe $30, and I bet they would have sold 10x as many at that price, which referring back to math, would equal a lot more profit..
I've said this multiple times: prices are ridiculous. $100 for a basic 7* crystal that no one even cares about, and it’s not even a full Titan crystal? That offer should be $20 at most (and MAYBE i would consider it).
We have to remember that the offers in this game are just chances to get a specific champion. Many times you can spend the equivalent of a brand new iPhone + a PS5 + multiple console games, and still not even get what you’re looking for or even worse, end up with a bunch of trash. So are the offers on this game attractive? hell no.
They're losing a huge amount of money because they're only targeting the same small percentage of the player base.
The Banquet event is coming, and the prices are around $50 for 10 crystals, where you can easily get full trash, as I said before. Yes, a lot of YouTubers, (which is literally their job) can buy those offers, or the whales, but not the community. Organize a good event, do some promotions , offer, I don’t know… 10 crystals for $25 or something more attractive, and you’ll see how much more players will spend. It’s a win-win: the community will have more chances to buy the offers and stay active!, meaning more players investing $$$, even community will be grateful. Whales and YouTubers will buy them anyway, and if your concern is that this could break the game’s balance, just put an offer limit. LOL. Maybe 10 first crystals for 25 and after that put the normal price, as i said do PROMOS.
Taking advantage of this post, I understand that you need to make money as a business, but your changes are way too drastic. It feels like you don’t think things through before making your adjustments. Take prestige as an example, is it a way to make money? Yes, but changing it from 5 champions to 30 is an insane jump. You don’t even give the community time to adapt, and it actually breaks the balance even more. The only ones with top prestige are the whales. If you had made gradual changes, for example, increasing the prestige calculation from 5 to 15 champions, then later from 15 to 20, idk it would’ve been a much smoother transition.
just saying …
u don't have to buy , u can wait for major sales like cyber & banquet
For that reason, Candy Crush is being one of Mobile Kings, You find broken offers for just one dollar, that's Insane, but they grab tons and tons of money lol
This latest $100 offer is an insult and nothing more. It’s supposed to make future offers look better but for me it’s like hearing a kabam executive tell me I’m stupid and easy to manipulate. I know this offer is intended to make future offers look better, but I don’t need encouragement to buy future offers anyway.
This is another example where the bean counters appear to be running the show into the ground. They set a goal for one of these ridiculous sales. Big whales set to autopay and a few newer players who are desperate for something (and are ignorant) buy the offer. Goal met… done. Next.
No consideration for how bad it looks, how other offers would be far more profitable, the long term implications, etc. The right number got populated in Quickbooks, no questions asked to how or why …. That’s all that matters,.
You know what they should do is some A/B testing and try this out. They've done it before if I recall and it wouldn't be hard. I've been saying this forever. I don't mind dropping $5-10 dollars every once in awhile but will never spend $100 dollars on a gamble for the game.
That's not the point. We get so many absurdly overpriced pop up offers. There's no way it's financially optimal for Kabam to keep having those instead of reasonable offers. I'm talking about offers you look at and think, "Who would buy this?"
The answer to that is, someone will.
The point is that kabam would make more money by adjusting the offer contents and pricing.
They would for sure, but you'd also see more complaints on here of monetization and widening the gap between spenders and ftp if they actually did that with the amount of pop offers you get a week.
On paper, that makes sense. However, I would suspect they don't make the bulk of their transactions from the mid-priced deals. I would say the larger portion comes from heavy spenders and the few times a year sales.
Of course it all adds up, but there is a range of offers for a range of spending habits. This isn't a more homogeneous market like a supermarket. Part of what I do is in sales, and you don't make more money by undervaluing your product.
That only makes sense if you think the products they are selling are correctly valued. They aren't, they are just for people who throw money at what they want. Very small portion of the player base. I would think a package for $2 that has 1 t3a and 1t6b and like 2000 7* shards would sell like hot cakes. Limit it to 1 or 2 and it's not going to widen the gap because whales don't need any of it. They'll probably buy it, but so will a lot of people who don't spend $100 for most of a nexus. You could even tier it to thronebreakers and give them what they need. I'd pay $2 for that a month, and if 1,000 other people did also, that's $24,000.
All of this is for people who throw money at what they want. There is no "correctly valued". It's whatever Kabam prices it at, based on rarity and other factors.
Consistently seeing laughable scammy offers puts a bad taste in most players' mouths. Even if there are a select few who see it and throw their money at it anyway since they can. It contributes to a continuing dissatisfaction with the game, leading other players to spend less than they would, not only on those offers, but future events.
No, I gently place my money down on the counter. I never throw it. And there is a "correctly valued" offer. It is one that sells well. That's why phones don't cost $10,000, it's why new games go on sale 1 year after they come out. It's how sales works. The items I am mentioning are like an old version of a console game, the people with money can buy the new expensive one, the people who don't want to spend all of their money can buy the outdated one at a fraction of the price.
People would have no problem spending if they returned the value that they once did.
Investing in this game now is just sunk cost, not reason at all to spend.
Accounts are at different points. What is highly valuable for some is readily available for others. There are also a host of different economic situations. There's a reason they've constantly said not all offers are for everyone. Literally.
In the decade I've been here, I've seen people complain about every single thing offered, and I can say with relative certainty that those people miss the fact that not all offers are directed at them personally. If someone doesn't want it, they're free to pass on it. What they can't do is dictate how much it should cost based on what they value. That doesn't apply to everyone.
If you left pricing up to what people think it SHOULD cost, I guarantee the game will go bust.
That all makes complete sense. But you are arguing a completely different point. The offers that they price out are not feasible for most. They are literally isolating the majority of players. Would you buy gum if you could only buy $100 worth of gum at a time. They can decide what to put in a $2 offer. I'm saying they should add things and gave a suggestion of something that is widely available for free (radiance store, battlegrounds store, glory store, daily event, daily quest) and put a price on it that is the same as a soda. Then thousands of people can say, "I'll skip the soda today and get this offer." You don't sell lawnmowers to people in lofts.
Thos offers aren't for the majority of Players. The more expensive ones are for those Players who have a large amount of expendable cash to spend on this game.
Yeah, no ****. That's ALL of the offers. They don't do the cheap ones. That's what I'm saying.
They do.
point is to make money , if u have other ways suggestion be allowed 🤷
Unhappy players spend less than happy players. There is a balance between greed and customer satisfaction that can be achieved to make the company the most money possible.
The only reason they continue with these deals is because people shockingly buy them . If absolutely nobody or few were buying these they would have taken the hint, but they still do.
